Being lazy, being cheap, being rushed to launch.

Take your pick.

Yes because having VC support straight out of the gate to the gamepad is what everone is buying the Wii U for.

Perhaps they made a decision to focus on actual WiiU games working on the gamepad so when people try it they don't go this thing is a dud.

I have no doubt they will include VC on gamepad later as peopel will demand it.

So they were rushed and needed pick one over the other to get working perfectly before launch.  Or cheap because they didn't want to hire more people to do both.

Stop trying defend Nintendo when do not need to, what I said applies to every console maker and every game developer.

True.  And yet you phrased your original post so as to be inflammatory towards those who would read this thread.

I believe that is called "trolling".

I just had a scary thought that Nintendo would probably leave VC play on the Gamepad until they are able to make some big announcement like at E3 2013.

Wouldn't worry too much...nintendo direct forums seem to be a bigger deal to nintendo than e3 these days and they have them all the time.

I give it 6 months to a year (for an update) but, while I admit playing vc games on the pad would be pretty cool, it's not a deal breaker...didn't even give it the slightest thought til I saw this thread.

wow, gone are the days when you bought a console and it worked for life. No need for software updates or anything, and certainly no RROD issues.

If I was to chose one, I would say Nintendo is being lazy in not including the VC feature for the GP. Because I don't think getting that done is rocket science.

I don't disagree with you on the underlined statement.I to wish consoles come as is, but the world has moved on patching things and updates where we rely on online services to be up to patch our systems and games.

It will be interesting times when 20years from now when these services have been disabled and you try to play games like skyrim on a PS3 and you don't have access to those patches.

Now about your lazy part, I doubt it because if you seeen how streamlined and optmised their console is, you wouldn't be calling them lazy. If they were trully lazy, their consoel would lbe the size of a 360/PS3 slim and be done with it.

I just think knowing that they cna update systems tghese days, they wanted to meet their target launch date to get a year head start on the competition.

I took Nintendo less than 4 months to get the VC going on the 3DS.  So I suspect it probably won't take any longer than that for the Wii U VC.

Lazy.   I'll never get why gamers like to use this word when referring to something not implemented and they don't understand why.

It's like the fall back line for everything.

I think for some when they see a feature not being ready out the box, although the feature has been on another console for years...they kinda come to that conclusion not saying they are right.

Cool. I'm just really sad they couldn't include it all from the start. I'm still looking forward to picking mine up on Sunday though (I feel a bit better already).

Lazy. Because it seems like a bit of a no brainer, so why add it later when it seems pefectly doable now? Kind of like the feeling peole get concerning DLC, I guess.

But it's an ignorant statement to make.  Do they really think the company just sat on their asses when they got around to number 345 on their checklist: Wii VC GamePad use?

It just bothers me when gamers come up with the most ignorant excuse they can when something isn't understood by them.

So you really think they just decided to sit on their asses instead of work?

Might it have something to do with the fact they already have a new Wii U VC planned so it doesn't really make sense to reprogram all the emulators twice for the Wii U?  Or to open up a potential Wii based exploit into the Wii U security when, again, a new VC for Wii U is in development that won't have a potentially exploitable Wii to Wii U bridge?

Do you realize just how many factors are involved that could explain why this feature is not yet implemented?  If you do, then why suggest it's just laziness?

I actually dont think Ninty is being lazy in this regard, they probably just dont have the whole thing set up yet. Thats all good, im just saying why some people might think that.
