And it's SO BEAUTIFUL. I haven't turned on my Game Boy Colour in years and haven't replayed the game since I was 10. What I didn't expect was for it to be every bit as good as I remember, plus intensely emotional every time something happened or I entered a new area. Tiny little things from the EXP bar filling up so satisfyingly to the falling animation in the lighthouse.

I haven't enjoyed playing a game this much for a long time. Right through to the moment I beat Red with my 'perfect' team at 10 levels lower it was magic.

I always hated pokemon crystal, cause you cant catch a mareep >:(

I dunno, it didn't click with me as much as Red/Blue or Gold/Silver did. Fatigue on my part, perhaps. It's objectively better than those titles, though, at least in most regards.

Crystal was the first Pokemon I played. So consider this to be about Gold/Silver.

Hmm... I never actually got to play Pokemon Crystal although I hungered for one when it first came out.

You know. Because it was the first time you could play as a female. I can't even describe how much that meant to me as a 9-year old girl.

In competitive play?  Yes.  In awesomeness?  No.

OMG. There's a girl on VGC.

This makes absolutely no sense and yet I still laughed myself stupid.
