Forums - Gaming - Prince of Persia (2008) underrated? Sequel?

The problem with the game was the lack of difficulty. The other PoP games had some seriously difficult platforming where this game just looked really pretty.

It just wasn't a PoP game. No combat, no assassin moves (even no enemies except for boss battles). The platforming was ok but nothing special. I finished the game but was very disappointed with it. Really didn't live up to the oldies

By the way, I never played a PoP game before this. I had no idea what to expect, and ended up enjoying it. lol same scenario as FFXIII. People hate change confirmed.

I enjoyed it, but hated the way the ending was handled with DLC (which I have never bought, and never will).

It was beautiful and the platforming was fun. Combat was poor, but it was poor in Sands of Time and that game is brilliant. The whole "you cannot die" is more "failure is not punished with much" as what modern games have "lives" that send you back to square one when exhausted?

I'd love another PoP with great platforming and puzzles and limited combat.

I don't mind change at all. It was just not a PoP game. They're very 2 different concepts, and instead of taking that formula to the HD consoles, they completely changed it and in the end just focused on Assassins Creed and Just Dance :P

I didn't mean it like that. The same thing that happened to you also happened to me. Super Paper Mario just wasn't a Paper Mario game, I was disappointed, I hated it...etc. I know that feel bro.

The game felt like magic. I don't know how else to describe it. I wish there was more.

Well said. So colourful and vibrant.

I actually quite enjoyed this game except for the ending, its the only PoP game I liked besides Sands of time, I never got into warrior within or Two thrones because of that rock music during combat I mean who thought that was good idea it made the game feel off and lost some of its magic.

I really liked this game! The only PoP i played before this one was actually the first one! :D
To be honest, there are flaws but to me they didn`t ruin my experience. If the game had more fighting parts, for example, i don`t think it would do well for the experience.
I felt the game was actually more of a game made to pull you in into the game world as to explore and experience a "world". The feeling of being alone in the game was actually one of the best parts of the game!

The best PoP in the franchise in my opinion (PoP: Warrior Within, was good until about 3/4 of the way through). I thought the direction they were going had promise, and after playing the overpriced epilogue, I was really hoping there would be news of a sequel.
