Forums - Gaming - Which user base has the most skilled gamers Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft?

There is no strict definition of "skill". So hard to tell. It's like asking which sport has the most skilled players?

Exactly.  Also, a person that's great at platformers could be horrible at racing games.

Michael Jordan tried playing baseball and it didn't go well...

^These guys.

Some can say, "but they use a lot of easy games to boost their scores". True, but they also have completed some difficult ones too.

Whichever user base contains the least amount of young kids, parents and elders. They should have spent the least amount time playing games and should be less experienced.

I think young kids along with teenagers spend the most time playing games as they are the ones with most free time on their hands.

edit- And its easier for young kids to learn and adapt quicker than adults, at least that's what the experts say I think.

If you were to face off with yourself from 16 years ago on any video game, who do you think would win?

I would beat myself and the rainmaker.

It would depend on the game, if its a series that I still play to this day like say street fighter I would be better than my old self but if its one of the old snes or nes games that were notoriously hard like contra my old self would probably be better.

Microsoft shouldn't even enter into discussion really. It's either Nintendo or Sony. Comes down to intelligence quotient and pure dedication. As Nintendo has drawn in the mindless masses with the Wii, their stock drops leaving Sony atop the mountain at present.

So far from users opinion on this site: Most PC and Xbox gamers are skilled at shooters mainly FPS, most Nintendo gamers are skilled at platformers.

As for the other genres like racing, fighting, action etc its a toss up between old school Nintendo gamers and some Sony gamers, and as others have mentioned its hard to know how many old school Nintendo gamers switched to Sony during the ps1 days and how many stuck with Nintendo.

So if you want a good opinion on a shooter ask a Pc or Xbox gamer for a platformer as a Nintendo gamer. For most other genres you can ask a Nintendo gamer depending on their age, or a Sony gamer depending on their gaming background.

Hmmmm interesting.

Now trophies are a measure of capability? Interesting perspective. False, but interesting. I do not play games for trophies; that platinum is from early 2009.

Well if you're not going to use Achievements and trophies to wave your virtual dick around, what can you use them for?

None.

Skilled gamers do not associate or limit themselves to one brand.
