Game 47 had been announced for a year before anyone actually started paying any attention to it thanks to a sleek new trailer. It wasn't quite as incredible as I had been hoping, but it's a top-50 title nonetheless.

Dishonored?

Edit: Damn, beaten by pezus!

49. Counter-Strike/CS: Source (PC, other versions on X-box, XBL &PSN)

This is why PC gaming is great. A bunch of fans create a Half-Life mod that goes on to become one of the greatest multiplayer FPS ever. Through numerous iterations the game has kept improving and improving. A bit lower than last year because I haven't played it for a while, but with a new version out on Steam, it may creep back up next year.

Clue to no. 48:

A 2D open world game (featuring 512 screens) from the mid 80s. It was released for a whole range of consoles and personal computers, but not any of the current big 3. It stars a character named BLOB.

ClayFighter? de Blob (though this is a very new one)? Blob the video game?

Hehehehe, nope. If you get this one I'd be impressed. It doesn't actually have BLOB in the name of the game.

If anyone gets this I'll be impressed.

I spent about 10 minutes trying to find it. Finally learned what game it is, but I won't respond here because I had to cheat to figure it out. What's sad is that I thought I knew it but then I found the title and I was completely off. lol

Did you look at my list from last year? lol.

48th - Tales of Phantasia (SNES, 1996)

I really need to play this again. I never got very far as their were other games to play but it's on my list of old games to play through properly.

I strongly suggest that you play the PSX version if you do. It's the best of the three versions by far.

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

#48 - Soccer, this sports game on NES is nowhere near the best in it's genre. In fact, it is really a mediocre game, if you consider the technical aspects. The thing is though, that I played this so many times, it's uncountable. Together with my cousin, we'd spend hours upon hours at grandma's house playing this together. It was the best time, all while some birthday was celebrated downstairs...

#47 -?
This entry will be one of the oldest platform games in existence. No, it's not the one people immediately think about (though that is also in my list), but it was a very popular one in it's time and really put it's publisher, which today is still one of the biggest, on the map.

Didn't realise their was one to be honest. I've always played using a SNES emulator. I'll have to check it out, thanks!

#48 - Tekken Tag Tournament

Definitely the high point in a fantastically smooth, frantic and enjoyable beat 'em up series for me.  Basically felt like the first 3 games rolled into one, with tagging, and bowling, and graphics which I still to this day find beautiful.  Plus, Jun was in it, so I could make my dream tag-team of Nina and Jun :)

Clue for my #47 - This is the part where I tell you.

Clue for 47 is 47. Agent 47. Hitman. Unless you meant clue unlocks later.

I liked Tekken 3 but mostly because i button mashed like crazy. After that you needed to play properly.

48 was Batman: Arkham Asylum. Arkham City was a big disappointment by comparison, Ruined all the great bits about Asylum.

My 47 is a rail shooter.

House of the Dead?

My #48 is Soul Calibur 2 (GC/XBOX/PS2). I played the Gamecube version and thoroughly enjoyed the smooth, fast and easy to pick up gameplay. The more time you put into the game the better it gets. It is still great to go back and have fun with characters like Nightmare, Kilik and Raphael.

More like googled "512 screen Blob video game" or something along those lines. I didn't want to take the really obvious route lol.

Hahaha, that's even better! I personally wouldn't have called that cheating either, just clever googling (or google being clever, I'll leave it to you to decide which )
