No. I'm sorry my hint was so vague x_x
Though you were pretty close with both guesses :) It's from the franchise of your first guess, but the genre of your second guess! :p

Corrrrect!
#11 - World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (PC)
As guessed by no-one :(
World of Warcraft literally changed my life. For better, or for worse, I still haven't decided. But regardless, the months of my life I lost enjoying this game I felt needed representing in my top 50 games, so here we are.
Burning Crusade was when I joined the game, so although I should probably list the original in here, it was this expansion pack which made me fall in love with it. And in all honesty, it was never better by the next two which I played (Wrath of the Lich King & Cataclysm). Blizzard crafted a beautiful living, breathing world full of wildly different locations which were literally awe-inspiring to explore first time around (particularly Silithus; Caverns of Time; Shattrath etc.) Add in some addictive mmo combat, enjoyable PVP system but the bread and butter of the game in the raid system and you've got yet another masterpiece. Some of the bosses and dungeons I explored during my time in TBC - Black Temple & Sunwell being the standout raids; Kael'Thas & M'uru being the standout bosses literally stay with me to this day. Awesome, epic and mind blowing. I wish the game was still in the TBC state because it was an awesome, awesome time.
Oh, and instead of a screenshot to end my post, here's the opening cinematic (with the quote you were all supposed to get!) which still gives me chills to this day. I was not prepared.
Clue for my #10 - smoking to discover hidden lasers was the coolest idea I had ever seen in videogames at the time this came out.

Remaining clues:
11: This game is the second highest new entry to my list and was the first game to introduce multiplayer to its series.
Extra hint: It has a controversial ending... (this should give it away).
10: An ambitious game that was 5+ years in the making but has a controversial sequel that did away with a lot of what made the original so enjoyable.
9: This game has been re-released multiple times and spawned numerous spinoffs.
8: This game introduced a new and popular Nintendo character.
7: "Make me feel alive again!"
6: I did not steal your sweetroll! Why do you have a limp?
5: This game featured Yvonne Strahovski on the box art.
4: Patrick Stewart, Sean Bean and gates. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (S.Peelman)
3: "I never asked for this"... but I can punch through walls now!
2: The physics in this game were revolutionary for the time and it has recently won an award for game of the decade. Half-Life 2 (S.Peelman)
1: Look at my previous posts. In my first ever VGChartz post I sing its praises. It shouldn't be that difficult to figure out!

31. Since this game concluded the trilogy, the next interation, which was made by a new developer saw substantially less hype, and potentially killed the franchise. The next game in the series is unreleased. The other 2 games in the trilogy were on my list at a higher spot, and have already been guessed.
Incorrect Guesses: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Starfox Adventures
30. EA-FU. Because of EA this game wasn't as good as it could have been. Not a property of EA (EA screwed up someone elses game).
Incorrect Guesses: Mass Effect 3, NFL Games, Dragon Age 2
26. The creator of this game is well known for misplaced or ending quests, it's his newest game, was not published by the same people in all regions. Not everything is Final.
18. Introduced flying Monkeys, made by a studio which changed ownership, as a result many of the developers moved to Crytek, and are responsible for Crysis. The change in ownership was very contraversal because of who bought it, however the original owner still holds the rights to this franchise and actually saw a new entry to the series recently.
Incorrect Guesses: TimeSplitters
13. The game is known for giving the player the power of decision, in order to alter the outcome of the game and many levels, but in the end it boils down to good or bad moves. This entry is the second in the series.
Incorrect Guesses: KOTOR 2, Baulders Gate 2
12. A Golden Crown to RPG's, this game tells a story lost through the Ages. <- Is a hint about the title.
Incorrect Guesses: Chrono Trigger
11. Ohh Noooooo....BwahHAHAHAHA. Someone else gave a similar clue to the same game on their list, and you guys guessed it immediatly.
Incorrect Guesses: Final Fantasy VI
10. The first newly localized GBA game from Nintendo. Based of a franchise which wasn't localized prior.
Incorrect Guesses: Fire Emblem
I updated a bunch of the hints, I think I made them too easy. Why isn't anyone guessing?
