Forums - PC Discussion - Razer mouse (and keyboard) DRM requiring internet

After some more usage, this thing is still as ridiculous.
So, every time you boot up the computer, all the settings must be reloaded, meaning, connect to their stupid cloud.
WTF is wrong with saving the settings on my computer?

The cloud is the future.  A painful future that burns.

I was under the impression that the mice still had onboard memory. Then again, I am not following this. What I do know is that the Razer Lachesis is fucking awesome.

According to what I read. Unless you kept your Synapse software under version 2, you're be required to be clouded whether your razer hardware is new or old.

I don't even know what "Synapse" software is. What is it?

For the record I actually finally came into contact with this issue, and this is my only information so far.

How accurate would you say it is?

Users comments on the site are stating the TOS is pretty damn broad on what data it can collect and share.  Reminds me of the South Park human centipede episode.

Its shitty that even hardware is moving on to DRM. But it looks like there may be an offlin mode to use once your mouse is set up online. Maybe that will help incase you want to play with out internet on.

Still is stupid that it requires that, and it cements that its logitech only for me now. Unless they go the same route.

Well after reading it more, I am not even sure if its a true offline mode. it looks like it still may data mine even in offline mode. If so thats a load of crap.

That is monumentally silly.

Razer still make incredible gear though.

Hahaha wtf?? Requiring internet for yo mouse is ridicilous

That's the first thing I looked for after the initial setup. If it's there, they are hiding it really really good 'cause I still have not found it.

I still have to logon each day to reload the mouse settings since I do turn the computer off when I am not home or not using.
