Even the cases where certain games landed on Wii first like No More Heroes, they eventually got ported to HD Twins which got better version of those games. That is a case where I didn't think the game was worth much on any console... cool idea and style surrouned by tons of crappy gameplay.

Not always; Goldeneye 007 got worse on 360 due to the loss of pointer controls and time trial mode. No More Heroes as also lost part of its appeal in the move to traditional controls.

Both PS3 versions of those games kept the motion/pointer controls, so I think cusman is right at least in regards to the PS3 versions.

If you happen to own a PS3 and a Move, then yes. 360 owners and PS3 owners without Move got the short end of the stick though.

lucky for me i own PS3 and Move, but thats beside the point, the option is their at least for PS3 version. So Cusman still isnt wrong.

He said "HD Twins" though. 360 owners didn't get a superior version of No More Heroes or Goldeneye.

I know what he said, which is why I specifically said the PS3 version. this is one of the few games where the PS3 version has something added. Ill be perfectly honest, i would still rate 360 version of GE above the wii one slightly, for the same reasons I rate the HD versions of COD higher. Those extra modes and options just put it higher than Wii, the pointer controls dont make it a better version IMHO. Now i know you dont agree with that, and i can def. see why. But PS3 cant see how someone would not think those were better versions, they are the Wii versions but better looking and with more stuff, the only flaw is they came out later, but that doesnt change content.

lol, most of those games are in the 60-79 score range, so much for "great"...

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

I agree that the PS3 version would be the best with a Move, I'm just saying, cusman included the 360 too, and in my view, a few merely okay extra modes and better graphics don't compensate for slower controls and the puzzling removal of the very challenging and satisfying time trial mode. (Guess they deemed time trial too "hardcore" for PS360 players... :P) I'm not even  factoring in the late release as a strike against the PS360 versions, so if  you add that, Wii gains yet aother edge.

Ghettoglamour
by whose standards?
I would definitely rate many games listed between 8 and 9

I respect your opinion Gamerace, but i really dont see how those two games you mentioned (or the ones Oniyide mentioned) are any better than The Conduit 1 or 2

The reason I liked Conduit was because it reminded me of the games I grew up playing - that is Castle Wolfenstein, Doom and Unreal (and Unreal is still better than Conduit).  It's style of play would have been dated last gen, let alone in this gen with games like CoD:MW.   It was as generic and vanilla a FPS as it could be with the exception of a couple novel weapons.  There were much more interesting FPS concepts last gen, and Halo (Xbox) especially would have put Conduit to shame in every way if Conduit had been a last gen game.    Plus the online on Conduit was broken - you started inside a wall 20% of the time and had to reboot your system and try again.

The only thing about Conduit that was better than last gen's best FPSs were it's graphics (and it probably wasn't better than Halo's) and PC like aiming / refinement / HUD options (but Halo was on PC which trumps Wii's IR aiming).    But that's a tech issue (Wii hardwave >> PS2) and if we're going to go there, HD FPS crush Wii's by that same token.

Conduit 2 improved on some of Conduits faults (online worked) but then failed in other areas (like the hackneyed voice acting - eech).

I fully admire HVS effort to create an AA FPS for Wii and they absolutely raised the bar on Wii and that showed in later FPS Wii efforts.   I give HVS an A for effort (and bought their games) but B- on execution.  They just don't have the creative or development chops (or budget) to make a truly great FPS.

Thus the problem, the only AAA FPS made for Wii (not ported and downgraded) was Goldeneye and even that when it was later ported to HD systems was considered average and nothing exceptional.

3rd parties put far more effort into their PS2 games (which were ported to GC/Xbox) than they did their Wii games.  In fact most of the best 3rd party Wii games are in fact PS2/GC ports (RE4, Bully, Godfather, Scarface, Okami, Lara Croft:Anniversary, etc., etc.)  the rest are more casual fare: Zack & Wiki, Boom Blox, EA Sport Active, Just Dance, Dead Space: Extraction, RE:Darkside/Umbrella Chronicles, etc.  or HD downgrades, CoD, etc.

There were a few solid 3rd party core efforts made specifically for Wii - Red Steel 2, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, Driver: San Francisco, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, NHL Slapshot but none of them were AAA.   AA at best.

Compared to the effort those same publishers put to HD consoles (and last gen consoles) for titles like Assassin's Creed, Battlefront, Metal Gear Solid 4, Dead Space, Batman, Etc. it's very disappointing that Wii didn't get the same respect.

What's most important is you found a lot of Wii titles that you enjoyed.   That's what it's all about and that's why you bought a Wii in the first place.

Good post Gamerace. I think you articulated a lot of points other posters have tried to make but in a single summarising post.

Gamerace
ok but i dont want to focus on Conduit, is not even on my top ten , it was just an example of how Wii is badtreated in comparison to other consoles
and i dont want you to compare it to others also
just look at the games listed and tell me if they are good or bad games
dont try to make excuses to prove me wrong

bravo, Gamerace, bravo

I suspect a lot of this reaction was largely due to it being a late port of a Wii game.

Campaign wise I'd still call Goldeneye 007 Reloaded one of the better FPS games on PS360. It's action/stealth mixture and tightly constructed levels were a nice change of pace from the overly scripted and messy design of most FPS campaigns this gen. (Can't speak for the online, never played it on Reloaded)
