Nice find. Can you find a video from that nintendo conference with gc controller? |
I put it all in the post above.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

No. A PS4 would be too powerful to fit all its components in such a small, ugly form factor. |
I said PS3 not PS4!
Edit: you can't deny PS2 looked better when it was slimmed down
Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Going by the PS3, the PS4 should turn out an ugly mofo. But the WiiU is a beaute :) So life-like!

That's just bull. Don't turn this discussion into something absurd with such arguments. SNES controller looks nothing like the current controllers. The X-box controller and GCN controller are two different controllers, the shape is totally different, so it really doesn't matter which one was revealed first. They were different. The X-box 360 controller is also different from the mentioned two, it's an evolution of the first MS build, but still distinctly different. The new Wii U Pro Controller looks like a copy of the X-box 360 controller. It's just EXACTLY the same shape. It's not an evolution of GCN pad, it's just a copy of the MS product and showing old controllers from 20 years ago without analog sticks and half the buttons is just stupid. Look at this.
This was evolution:

This is copying:

I see nothing in the Wii U controller resembling the Nintendo tradition. Just a copy of a succesful MS product and I think it's a disappointment and a bit of a humiliation. Nintendo simply can do better than this.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Damn! You've seen the PS4 already??
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
i dont see why looking like the xbox controller matters. I mean, its not like the xbox controller really offered anything innovative that anyone should be offended about "copying". It just looks like a generic controler with a different analog placement...which is exactly what it is.
In other words
Copying something generic=generic product
Copying something innovative=copied product
Thats my opinion. Now, tell me why it matters that the optional pro controller looks like the xbox controller?

Actually, it's an evolution of the Classic Controller Pro from the Wii combined with the analog stick placement of the Wii U GamePad with the edges from the original Classic Controller smoothed out.

The rEVOLution is not being televised
I think the console looks pretty good. Not "omg awesome!" good but good enough for me to put it under my TV and think "yeah, that's alright".
BTW, why are we having that controller discussion again? It's popping up in so many Wii U threads. The Wii U Pro Controller looks a lot like the 360 controller - because the 360 controller is the most comfortable to use. At the same time the 360 controller (just like most other controllers) stems from the SNES controller design. Even the N64 controller is a SNES controller with an analog stick and 2 face buttons added *gasp!* most people don't even realize this but it's so obvious
The PSX controller looks just like the SNES controller and uses the same arrangement of buttons. So you guys are all right. "But my company did it first!" really needs to stop. "But my company serves its customers!" is what I want to hear.

Do you even realize how pointless this argument is? They look very similar, Nintendo obviously took inspiration from the 360 shell design. There is nothing shameful about that, it's not like Microsoft invented that controller. The Xbox controller took ideas from the dreamcast and from the cube to build its very first and very own controller for its first platform. Everything after that is not novel but refinement, and the 360 is a damn great controller so taking the shell design from MS is nothing to be ashamed of.
Get serious man.
