That's just bull. Don't turn this discussion into something absurd with such arguments. SNES controller looks nothing like the current controllers. The X-box controller and GCN controller are two different controllers, the shape is totally different, so it really doesn't matter which one was revealed first. They were different. The X-box 360 controller is also different from the mentioned two, it's an evolution of the first MS build, but still distinctly different. The new Wii U Pro Controller looks like a copy of the X-box 360 controller. It's just EXACTLY the same shape. It's not an evolution of GCN pad, it's just a copy of the MS product and showing old controllers from 20 years ago without analog sticks and half the buttons is just stupid. Look at this. This was evolution:
This is copying:
I see nothing in the Wii U controller resembling the Nintendo tradition. Just a copy of a succesful MS product and I think it's a disappointment and a bit of a humiliation. Nintendo simply can do better than this. |
Do you even realize how pointless this argument is? They look very similar, Nintendo obviously took inspiration from the 360 shell design. There is nothing shameful about that, it's not like Microsoft invented that controller. The Xbox controller took ideas from the dreamcast and from the cube to build its very first and very own controller for its first platform. Everything after that is not novel but refinement, and the 360 is a damn great controller so taking the shell design from MS is nothing to be ashamed of.
Get serious man.
