Forums - Sony - LittleBigPlanet Karting Review Thread! (IGN Review = Yikes..)

It seems only IGN disliked it.

I didn't even knew this was coming out... is Sony doing the usual by releasing an exclusive game and then spend no money on marketing?

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Is people really complaining about this? Ive played it and it really isnt a good game. Id maybe give it a 7 at best. Id much prefer Mario Kart or ModNation Racers.

Perhaps. Except IGN thought Modnations was great and a 9/10 game, yet this is basically Modnation 2.0 and they gave it a 5/10. Critic inconsistency is a bit of a worry as of late.

I've looked at the review and one of the main complaints is that when you use a speed-up item and crash, you respawn without an item, thus making you vulnerable to an offensive item of competing drivers. This criticism is perfectly sound, because no game should punish the player for mistakes that were committed by the player.

i think the speed up item is like the bullet bill where you don't have control over it. So basically they steer you into a wall and you are screwed so while you shoudve gotten a bonus with the speed up item you get screwed. Thats the impression i got

I'd like to know how it compares to "Mod Nation Racers". That was a promising title that had some odd issues (insanely bad load times) but as a racer it was solid and the track creator had its merits. I'll keep an eye out a year from now on this when it comes down in price.

I laughed, but only because I read it in Greg Miller's voice.

lol i don't know why anyone takes ign seriously... they've been dishing out some really low scores

I feel like they usually overhype games more than anything. They've given out so many 10s just this generation. I think it's nice to see someone use more than the top half of the scale for once.

None of those reviews have considered the online mode. But I heard they aren't even functionnal as of right now.

I played the beta and I think it is way better than modnation, and modnation got a 9 WTF?!. Greg is just an asshole.

I like Gregg.

..He loves Uncharted. Especially 3.

xD.
