Ah you're the guy that keeps getting banned.

I dont care about your grammar police, its not my first language and its pretty good considering.

Why do i conclude he prefers to steal cars and explode things? It is quite obvious, i am impressed you didnt realise that.

He obviously wants instant gratification, and not a living breathing world of characters to discover. Blowing/Shooting things is whats fun for this kind of people isnt it? What kind of game do you think he likes given he says Shenmue is boring? Exploration, discovery, experiencing a virtual breathing and living world certainly isnt it by his own words. Why dont you enlighten us with your wisdom?

Super mario Galaxy has no guns, and is not driven by QTEs, nor is it boring in any way shape or form, not in action, not in environments, not in story to gameplay ratio.

...

This site is a waste of time.

I'm thinking you are the one wasting my time. You do realise were talking about sandbox games?

You thought that we were talking about sandbox games, but gigasheik made no such limitation in his posts:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4870371

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4870392

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4870417

I get banned because I get upset when the forums are infested with posters who assume things of conversations that are just not there.

There is no convo to have when people derail ideas to no end.

Quick time events? A city full of nothing to do? Every object is toucheable. You zoom in/out, rotate and all that but do absolutely nothing? Shenmue sucks. Let it rot in its coffin of unfulfilled promis.

There are much better games that Nintendo can fund.

How many cities with things to do, do you find in mario Galaxy?

Playing the victim doesnt suit you. You came in on the debate trying to make it sound like i was assuming something out of context. Obviously i wasnt, so move on.

If you have something to say about Shenmue then go ahead.

It doesn't matter how many cities Mario Galaxy has. What matter is that the city in Shenmue, to him, is boring, that's his opinion.

He may like other games with no guns with no cities. Not sandbox games, just regular adventure games. He could even like games with cities that aren't sandbox games, but maybe RPGs.

If you want to talk about a game with things to do, it doesn't need to be limited to sandboxes, or games with cities.

But for the sake of OP, let's say I indulge you and limit my thoughts to games with cities, there could be a game like Shenmue with no shooting, but with more things to do. You immediately compared it to GTA, but what if he simply had an issue with Shenmue's content, not with its setting (no guns).

That's where I have a hard time with your post, it assumes too much, and much of it in a negative light (that he only likes violent sandbox games).

EDIT: You need to understand that I respect Shenmue and its content, I am just not happy with your jumping to conclusions when you assumed he wanted guns and whatnot. It's not necessarily true and assumes a lot.

How does comparing a sandbox game like shenmue to a racer or a platformer make any sense to you?!

He said the game is BORING, that there is nothing to do. That is far from beeing the truth. There is discovering, there is living in the game. Going to the arcade, working gathering money, training your skills, talking to people in the street, exploring every knook and cranny. There is much to do if you allow yourself to be imersed. He obviously didnt and brashly called the game boring. It is comparable to say a game like Minecraft or animal crossing are boring. He just doesnt get the game. Not getting is not the same thing as a boring game.

So if he doesnt enjoy those aspects... what other aspects of sandbox games are left? I'm not saying he likes violence specifically but he obviously likes instant gratification because he cant imerse himself in the game world.

How does one make a top 10? If he considered it boring, then it must be that he considers other games less boring (since he's a gamer after all), and his next posts mention games like Majora's mask, which is not a sandbox game. Excitement factor is comparable accross a range of game genres.

----

I agree with your second paragraph. I'm sure this comes to you as a surprise. I don't disagree with you on this point, I really disagree with the jumping to conclusions saying he only wants violent sandbox games.

You also don't know his opinion on AC or Minecraft but I do agree that it's likely given their similarities with Shenmue that he doesn't like them. But again, it's better to ask than to assume.

----

There are other things that can be done that he mentioned, like accelerating time. If you actually asked him, maybe he could answer that for you.

And here's where I'd vote for "unlikely", IF THERE WAS ONE!

Never played Minecraft. I love Animal Crossing WW.
