Metacritic seems to allow bottom of the barrel blogs equal placement aside websites with at least a shred of journalistic integrity. Ok, here's the list and scores:

Halo 4

98 ---  IGN

90 --- Gamespot

(  ) --- Game Trailers

(  ) --- Gamefront

90 --- GamesRadar

91 --- 1Up

(  ) --- UGO

100 --- Joystiq

100 --- Destructoid

80 --- Giant Bomb

Ok, so let's do a little simple math. We are awaiting three scores so until then the total possible is is 700. The current actual total is 649.

That comes out to 92.71% if my rusty calculation skills have held up since I fell asleep in high school math.

92.71% with three scores left to go. Metacritic has Halo 4 at 87% right now. Which number do you think is a better estimate of Halo 4's quality?

What do you think? Is there a better review website than one listed? Is this even a good idea? Should I buy a domain and get started? Should I give up gaming altogether and find a new hobby? You tell me.

Yes, you should give up gaming because you live to judge a game without playing it. Just as long as the review says that the game is bad then you won't like it. So since we live in an age where we can take reviews over experience you should quit gaming. I mean, it's metacritic. They know you more then you do, their opinions are NEVER wrong.

lol, nah I think I'll keep gaming. Thanks for the advice though. I'm going to go play some Halo 3 in preperation for Halo 4. Damn is Halo so damn good.

j/k But do you honestly think the game is that bad. I mean if you really sat down and made a list of pros and cons, would it really be as bad as you think. If you look at the merits and what it is trying to do, did it fail? You don't have to like the end result, but a reviewer should try to look past that.

A movie reviewer can hate a child's film, but give it a good score because it's a great kids movie. A game review can dislike FPS but give a game a good score for being a good FPS.

yes, i played arkham asylum and the game is utter shit, ill explain why easily as well. yet it stands on a 91 metascore i disagree with that score but i dont think metacrtic should change because of it

Guys, come on. I'm excited for Halo 4 also, and I really hope it's a great game, but how can you pre-judge the game like this?

Furthermore, if you've already decided it will be a 9, 9.5, or 10, why bother going to Metacritic in the first place, and why bother reforming the system?

Maybe you're just joking around, in which case ignore what I said. I just don't think it's fair to crush a reviewer because he shows obvious bias, and then demonstrate a similar bias in the other direction.

Not trying to pick a fight, just wanted to get that off my chest.

If we were to do this to all the metacritic scores on metacritic, a large percentage of scores there would inflate several points.

edit: and some scores would actually go down.
