How in the hell did SMG just suddenly overtake OoT this late in the game? Did someone just post a review recently to push it over the top? Or did this happen a while ago and we're just noticing now?

Its always hard comparing two totally different games like these two. One cannot speak for everyone so no Mario 64 isn't the best Mario game for everyone just for many people and maybe Mario Galaxy is the best for others. Zelda Ocarina of Time being dethroned took some time though so I give Galaxy props.

I think that Mario 64 is my least fav mario game or one of my least fav. I guess it is because I skipped that generation completely and played years later when already Galaxy and Sunshine where out.

In the same way that I think that New Super Mario Bros (ds) is the worst 2D Mario game.

And this is why I don't care for review scores. We understand both games are really good (except Zelda imo), but we don't need to argue that because of a .01% higher average Galaxy is better than Ocarina. Do you guys realize that the sample size of only 22 for Zelda and 77 for Mario is nowhere close to being large enough for the score to be accurate to even a third digit. The randomness of reviews means any of the top 5 games could have got this "honor" of being number one.

The 3 best Marios ever are:

Super Mario Bros. 3

Super Mario 64

Super Mario World.

I ave literally noting to say about Galaxy. I will upset to many people.

How is that even possible? It's probably an amazing mario game but there are so many other games much more deserving of this "title." Crazy crazy news man.

Yes, Galaxy is not the best Mario.

My opinion is Mario 64 beats it, Galaxy comes in second (or third if 2D games are counted and Yoshi's Island is one of them). Also, Galaxy > Galaxy 2, because Galaxy 2 has a 2D style level-select, which is vastly inferior to the Space Station in Galaxy (what were they thinking). That said, neither are better than Ocarina of Time, which is the best game ever made.

Lastly, how is this possible? I don't think anyone made a review for Galaxy lately, did they? Unless random internet people count these days...

COMPLETELY AGREE! although i'm a huge Zelda fan, I cannot lie to myself lol. The Galaxy games are 100% amazing the whole way through. there is no better game... ok, maybe skyward sword lol.
this is all imo anyway.
