It looks like these people reviewed the Surface expecting it to be the Surface Pro. That's like reviewing the Wii and expecting it to work with the Wii U tablet controller.

I didn't really like the review i was gonna wait for the pro anyway.

I read the review before and I don't think richard (the author) was completely unbiased. Why include the iPad into it?

Of course, the price point being similar does matter but still, a largely negative review, some of which are definitely important like the lag in office.

It was reviewed the correct way. The hardware is just laughable in this day and age. It would be OK if it was $250 but $500 is a one big LOL.

The sad things is that I 80% agree with the review but I'd still buy this over the iPad lol.

I've had iphones, itouches and I have an iPad 2...and they bore the crap out of me. The gestures, charms and live tiles alone make Windows 8 more interesting to use than the iPad for the day to day tasks like email, web surfing and multitasing in general

I only read your post, not the article, and it seemed like the biggest gripe was the fact that it didn't have the type of laptop functionality they were hoping for (which is what the Surface PRO has... not this one). Hence, my comment.

It would be nice if you actually summarized with bullet points the key likes and dislikes if you're not going to post the whole article. :P

I only have one question that matters to me: Is it better or worse than the similarly priced Ipad?

I'll likely get a Pro anyway, but if I can't then I want to know Ipad or Surface.RT?

The review is pretty much what I was telling you from the beginning :).

I agree with you about the Ipad comparison, but at least wait for the one with proper hardware. I can't get over the fact that Microsoft uses Tegra 3 in their flagship ARM device for 2013. They don't have enough money, I guess.

check out the G4 review. it's alot better. see why G4 gave the Surface tablet a 4.5 out of 5.

With the surface I sense that there was a long optimization cycle to get Windows RT to work properly and that when they started doing this, Tegra 3 was absolute cutting edge. But 10 months later here we are. I do agree that the surface is a pass but as a platform, Win 8 is the one I've personally been waiting for. 

Even Surface Pro doesn't look like a clear cut winner to me compared to some of the stuff I'm seeing form other OEMs.
