Spin-offs don't count.

Are you doing this on purpose? I told you what spin-offs are already, and the PSP games are not spin-offs. But since you added that condition, I am adding the condition that Sony started this generation -> Sony gets the win

Can I ask why you all are even argueing over any of this?  What is the point in any of this?

We need to get to the bottom of this.

Bottom of what.  People say GoW about Gears and God of War.  Gears has outsold the God of War trilogy.  PS3 has outsold xbox since its release.  How does any of this matter?  God of War and Gears are completely different games that are both amazing to say the least.  They have both sold well and critically acclaimed.

We all know this generation began when Sony said so. So to the victor (PS3) go the spoils indeed.

Does not compute...what does this post mean?

Just what it says. The generation began in November 2006, and from then on Sony has sold around 3m more PS3s than MS has sold 360s.

That is utter bullshit. The generation started when the first console of the gen was released. And since then, the X360 has sold 2m more than the PS3. Deal with it.

Then deal with GoW selling more than Gears.

GODOWA hasn't sold more than GOW.

Yes it has. Take a look at this comment http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4860406

Spin-offs don't count.

There are no God of War spin-offs. Only prequels lmfao.

If they're not the main series then they're spin-offs.

Your condition is nonsensical though. The main series of GOW has sold more than the main series of GODOWA, therefore it has the rights to the acronym. I thought this was universally agreed?

This thread has veered so off-topic...

LOVE the name change of this thread XD

Haha, it felt like a accurate description. :D

LOL, excellent thread title xD

OT: I remember Halo 4 outpacing Reach a while ago. Any reason that has changed?

For instance I remember Halo Reach was heavily advertised before release, but thus far I haven't seen a single commercial regarding Halo 4. Could that have something to do about it? Is the lack of advertisements a global trend?

Well done Persona and Liberation, but neither are enough to give Vita the push it needs. Cod isn't even on there so there's no hope for that. That price drop in Europe may suffice for now, but Vita needs some big announcements soon and some damn marketing for its games.

SIGH.

1. Liberation will give Vita a boost. We don't know how big, but there is a bundle and people love bundles so...BOOST.

2. Call of Duty Vita is on there. It's #50. Release Date is wrong though.

3. There is no price drop in Europe.

4. It's getting marketing. I've seen a lot of Liberation ads.

SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

1. I really don't see how it'll be enough.

2. It's #50 and coming out in a couple weeks. Need I say more?

3. I read about the temporary one, was that disproven?

4.  I'll take your word for it, even though I've seen fuck all.

1. It won't be enough. One game alone isn't going to save the Vita. It needs a steady stream of high-profile(and hopefully high quality) games.
2. You said it wasn't on the chart, IT IS. I was talking about the top 20. When I posted that nobody posted the other spots.
3. Whatever that was it was only retailer or country specific. Never trust articles translated by Google. There is no European price cut.
4. Like you said though, it's not enough. No point in marketing a game so much with only a Metacritic of 72 .

They ARE NOT spin-offs.

You need to choose better words. If you mean the Gears trilogy outsold the GOW trilogy then yes, you are right.

But overall as a franchise, God of War is bigger.

No...but I'll leave you be from now.
