Back when I used to read Star War novels as a teenager, I always wondered if the Heir to the Empire trilogy by Timothy Zahn could be used to create the next trilogy. That trilogy introduced some popular, expanded universe characters like Mara Jade, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Gilad Pellaeon, and so on.

Disney should be given a chance. They made great movies with the Marvel characters.

The whole story of Star Wars (the 2 core trilogies (hexalogy??)) is about Darth Vader/Anakin. The story revolves around him - in one way or another. And making a new trilogy (7-9) couldn't possibly feature him, unless it's a clone and that would suck monkeyballs.

Make some pre-prequals!! Use the whole Universe that BioWare have created...

The next Kingdom Hearts game will feature an epic battle between Yoda and Sephiroth.

What happens to 1313 now that Disney has final say? Canceled, you think? Disney isn't exactly known for their grand-scale console games outside of Epic Mickey.

Wait...so are they making three films following "Return of the Jedi" or will it be a trilogy based in the Star Wars Universe? I am not sure about the former, but the latter could be very interesting.

Who will direct these?
My guess for front runners are Joss Whedon coming off of "Avengers" success (also owned by Disney) or possibly J J Abrams for his re-boot success of "Star Trek".
