Megaton. That thread from last year was spot on as we got the VII remake... though sadly not FF7.

This should sell gangbusters in Japan.

BTW Dragon Quest 4-6 got updated for the DS and let's not forget Dragon Quest 1-3 for the Gameboy color. The continuation seems obvious.

This is great, but yeah I thought the other  DQ's would be remade for 3ds eventually so it's not that big of a surprise to me. Its great that the rumour was true.

Square Enix “currently evaluating” Dragon Quest VII 3DS for localization

Dragon Quest VII 3DS, as you would expect, hasn’t been confirmed for North America. Square Enix says that it is “evaluating” the remake for overseas territories at the moment.

A representative told Joystiq:

“We’re currently evaluating the title for the Western markets, but nothing has been determined. Please stay tuned for more information.”

I wonder if Square Enix would be willing to team up with Nintendo for publishing. Dragon Quest IX was published by Nintendo, so why not DQ VII as well?
