Have you sometimes thought about human psychology? High review scores are a perfect example.
It's a phenomenon purely based on emotions.
Typically it goes like this:
You get wowed by something in the game, often something quite trivial, but it gives you a certain feeling in the back of your spine and it almost speaks to your soul. At that moment you decide you love the game. Your dick becomes hard and you get goosebumps all over you. It's like a high. It's like religious fervor. All you want to do is to praise what you've just discovered and let the whole world know how wonderful it is.
A professional should be able to take a deep breath and take one or two steps back and fend off those feelings because unlike an ordinary guy like myself he's writing something that will affect millions of people.
That IGN 9.8 review is a perfect case.

Please, dont include religous praise. It is highly offensive as I cosider it FAR more than just a 'boner' or a 'goosebump'.

Whiplash, I know you're Christian and so am I. It's borderline offensive the way I wrote it without a context, the religious fervor sentence, but I am convinced that you've probably heard your pastor or some other wise person sometimes warn you of not mixing God's voice/The Holy Spirit with your own emotions. Because that's common in religion (it's common in all aspects of life no matter if you're a believer or not), to get caught up by your emotions and act upon them.
