Media will likely be limited by region IP, so I would not be able to wacht their spanish streams from the Netherlands... which would be cool if I could. And is it releasing in Japan or not, the article says: "... engage with TV content "in entirely new ways" when it launches in North America and Japan." |
Well, Netflix just launched here in Sweden, so we'd be cool ^^

We have stuff like Sky, and Tivo (Virgin's alternative), for recording programs. Then there's BBC Iplayer, ITV Player, 4OD etc. which have catch up shows; with the latter having almost their entire back catalogue of shows for free.
Netflix and Lovefilm would likely also come into it, as well as some of the smaller channels like Dave, and Eurosport.

You also have Lovefilm and Voddler; but what use is it if they won't support your country? I remember that Scandinavia doesn't even have a Nintendo Club...
This could be easily implemented in the UK, just from the services Conegamer has mentioned in the previous post.
Didn't Nintendo always used to say that they focused solely on giving a game machine and not a multimedia device?
I could have sworn I read that as recently as 3 years ago. Anyways, they've really been shifting away from that mentality.

Well, Voddler sucks, so... Yeah...
I know, it's so stupid we don't have Club Nintendo here! They took away that concept 2006, when the Wii launched... Stupid decision. Swedish/Scandinavian Nintendo isn't part of NoE actually... That's weird as well.
I really hope they bring that concept over here never the less!!
