Forums - Gaming - What's the weirdest or worse glitch you have come across in a game?

I had a game breaking glitch in Soul Reaver 2 on PS2. There are some temples in the game that after you finish them and go to leave you have to put the Soul Reaver in the door to open it and then after you leave the door will seal shut. Well I get to the door and try to leave and nothing happens, door wont budge. So I run back around the map a bit and come back, the door is sealed from the inside. So I start a new save thinking it just bugged on me, get to the same part and it does it again. Eventually took the disc back to exchange it and never had the issue again.

One of the weirdest glitches I have come across were packed into a Tony Hawk Pro Skater game for the PS2. There was an unlockableable character you could get that could use a skateboarding skill called "Jango Jump Jet" (If anyone played this game, maybe you would know what I'm talking about) and you could spam that skill over and over again and keep on flying up, depending on how you used it. You could use it to get stuck into a gorilla's cage, or stuck into the aquarium, over fences, over into out of bound areas that do not have penalties, up onto things or whatever. It was so easy to glitch the game that I felt like the developer of the game intended for the game to be glitched.

COD:WAW on the wii you could fall through a rock in one multi-player map and then shoot the other people from underground since you could still see them walking around on top of you. There were a bunch of other glitches too.

My 3DS out-of-box experience.

1. Insert Rayman.
2. Start game. Select first level.
3. Walk fowards.
4. Walk through wall
5. Fall into the infinite void

The 3DS didn't get turned back on for another 6 months.

Mass Effect 3. The docking bay on the citadel. I was walked into the keeper that wanders about and was pushed over the barrier and just fell in to oblivion. After a couple of minutes i restarted. Now I avoid that keeper like the plague!

In Fallout 3 I went into the power station and when i went out the back towards all the solar panels lots of weird gray columns appeared to crash around me. And some strange crashing sound effects played. They stayed there for ages, in after exiting and re-entering the area.

I've had that one too!

Weirdest glitch I've ever had!

a funny one to me was in Skyrim, after a fight with a giant I was stuck about 3-5ft in the air, and when I moved It looked like I was flapping my arms like a bird.

another on was in Mass Effect 3, I was on the docking bay about to go on the ship when I fell all the way to the refugee camp...happened twice

Saw these posted over on Gaf

Weirdest in a good way was in Fallout 3. I'm in the town built on an old ship in the harbor (forget the name). I try to pickpocket the waitress, but something went wrong, I think I actually tried to pickpocket the little boy with an attitude instead and got caught. Now, in Fallout 3, you can't kill kids, so I holster my gun and back away. He attacks me, which, because I don't fight back, draws the aggro of everyone around.

So we have this unkillable kid fighting with everyone in the market. Soon all the security forces join in as well. He gets hold of a gun and kills them all. Every single one of them. I then pulled him outside, where he ended up slaughtering the Brotherhood of Steel guys and a few Super Mutants. Pretty awesome.

Bad glitch would be Borderlands 2, in the Angel Core Control level, where Roland gets stuck 3/4ths through the fight and all mobs stop spawning. I'm just wandering around, waiting for more robots to appear, or something, when I notice Roland stuck up in the air. I eventually had to save and quit then continue, so I could do the whole thing over. The sad part is that the boss immediately before this section, BNK-3R or something, got stuck while doing his dying animation, so even though I killed him, I had to do the entire fight over and kill him again. Ugh.

I've seen the BNK-3R one before while farming him for the SMG he drops,  he got stuck on the outer ring running into the edge. Seen him also die on the outer ring and all his drops fall into the abyss below, had that happen 2 fights in a row! And lastly I had him fly straight away from me at the beginning of the fight and just keep going until he dissapeared off screen and just never came back.

Holy cats, I knew he was glitchy but not that bad.  There is nothing more heartbreaking than losing drops.  I lost a purple about an hour ago while farming for The Bee.  I saw it drop through the wall but I never could find it.  It tore me up.

On the subject of Borderlands, I still think it might have been intended, but the "glitch" in the General Knoxx DLC where you could fall though the floor into the Armory has to be the most awesome ever.  Dozens of chests with no time limit, I was so happy when I first pulled it off.
