Forums - Sony - Games That Need To Stop: God Of War

I agree. By far one of the worst franchises I've never played. You would think if it was so damn good I would have played them by now. You know what franchise God Of War should learn from? NINJA GAIDEN! That franchise only seems to get better and better.

You know what would make God of War a better franchise...... Zombies!
Just call it God of War Z.

Can't tell if you're serious because of your profile pic which could mean you don't like Sony...

Throw Halo and COD there aswel. Uncharted doesn't need to stop, it just needs a break.

H3 was 2007, Reach was 2010, and Halo 4 was 2012. The main entries have spaced out and are all 90+ metacritic. COD is every year and suffered in quality. Kinda ignorant post you got there.  Sounds like you want them off because they are associated with 360 and/or benefit 360 the most.

For a guy with shares in Microsoft you certainly don't know your stuff. I couldn't care what console these games are on. I have all current gen consoles.  You ignorantly forgot:

Not ignorant, as I only counted the MAINLINE Halo games.  I even said "main entries" lol. Listing an expansion with the mainline titles is even more so ignorant on your part.

And your complete lack to counter to my claim that you unfairly grouped COD and Halo together shows you too dont know your stuff and make outright wrong generalizations about Halo.

I may have shares from MS... but I bet you got a tatoo of Sonys corporate logo somewhere on your body :)

I've been saying this for a while. I like God of War but they're milking it for sure. Yes you can compare it to Halo now that they have 6 Halo games, 5 of them which is mainline. The thing is, Halo has a huge universe and a big back story that they can work with it. Mass Effect and Metal Gear Solid I would also put in the same boat as Halo, because once again they have such a diverse big story that they can work with. God of War on the other hand is just about some angry dude wanting to kill the gods(Not bashing God of War, it's a great series). Now that he has killed the gods how can they continue it besides doing a prequel. We don't even know if he died or not in the 3rd but we already know his story. What else can be told?

So the entire Greek mythology is not huge backstory but somehow Halo has a bigger one?

I'm talking about Kratos.  he is the God of War.  Without kratos you don't have god of war now do you?

And if you disagree I would love to hear where they could possibly go with his story?  We know everything already.  He killed the gods and died (possibly).  So even if he is alive where do you go with it.  What type of prequels could they make?  Give me a reason

Did you finish GoW3? There will be a continuation. Now, whether they continue in the same Greek universe or let him invade other mythologies is the question, but there is no doubt that they could do a lot more with the story. Kratos is *spoilers from GoW3 I guess* alive

Yes I finished it.  I have played and beat all the God of War games except the ones for psp.   Kratos was never an amazing character to me in the first place and his story is pretty simple.  The gameplay on the other hand is brilliant but if they want him to do other things in mythologies then I guess, but I dont see it working.  I'd prefer they just make a new series and give God of War a break.  Doesn't mean I'm right or wrong, just my opinion.

I hope you don't think GoW is overused then either.

Not at all. In fact I think Sony should have made more because it is so popular.

But now the tricky part is finding a way to continue the story, I mean to give players an excuse to bash and smash things.

Just saying that if you ever get the chance to play the PSP titles (even if it's the PS3 collection), I suggest you give it a go.  They were both pretty solid--especially Ghost of Sparta.

Yeah that's what I've heard.  I always hated my PSP though. I only bought Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker for it so i never got around to the God of War games.  I'll end up playing it eventually, just haven't got around to it.  I'll probably get them after I play ascension lol

It's kind of annoying when non-fans say that a series needs to stop. Why don't you just ignore the new games? The fans clearly want more games.

Well I am a fan and I think Ascension is an banalizes the main GoW trilogy.
