lol yeah I was just reading my October post... wow did the preorder hype set me up for failure.

For the record, in early December I made the tracking thread (see sig) and in there I said they might not make their goals and then right after xmas I said definitely not and they'll like reduce it to 4m (which we know they just did).

Had preorders not been jacked up by scalpers, I would never of made that claim.

I thought it was going to sell much better as well, since they learnt the lesson of the wii, i.e. have lots of stock available at launch. Unfortunately for them the hypes not there for the wii U like it was for the wii

I think Pachter really has an axe to grind for some reason.  Maybe the fans are getting to him, he's been very harsh lately - coming off like more of a forum poster rather than a professional.

Michael Pachter, up until recently believed that the Nintendo launch was looking quite well. That all changed today. Pachter claims that the sales of the hardware fot the Wii U of 5.5 million are low. Furthermore, he claims that selling 24 million (4 games per console sold - incl. bundle) of software, is unrealistically high. He also believes that the current path of the Wii U is dissapointing.

What do you guys think? Is he right or is he trolling again?

I think we can all agree that nobody expected HW to be this low for the WiiU. Software wise it is surprising that it did not match their expectations. Lets be honest, everyone was expecting NSMBWiiU to sell like a monster.It simply shows that even Mario can be milked too far in some instances.

Its a mixed bag for Pachter this time around, yet we still need this E3 to see where Nintendo is going, so we can decide if they are creating yet another GC or something more...
