I don't understand why people get so defensive every time Playstation Plus gets mentioned.  I never said it wasn't a good service.  It just doesn't offer enough benefits to me to be worth £40 a year, so I skip past the icon.

Yes, the size of it might be a little larger, but do we really sit there and just stare at the XMB? I'm going to go on a limb and say "no", so in the end crisis averted.

fun thing is i didnt notice it until i read this thread and i must have clicked past it about 5 times....

if this becomes a trend though and i end up with 10 or more icons to skip past it does (for me at least) become a big issue.

besides, a lot of peoples download speeds are slow and capped.  forced download of this game is ... not a smart choice.   bad move sony.

If what you are mentioning happens and people complain to the high heavens like they probably will, SONY can just enable those icons to be placed into folders. Once again, crisis averted.

that would completely defeat the purpose of the "ad" if you folder it and make it easy to ignore.  you know, as much as i hate to admit it i think sony needs to find a better way to advertize psn content but this... this is just the laziest and least effective way possible.
