Most of you know that I'm a staunch Nintendo fan. I've always loved the company, and always stuck with it. During the days of the PS2, I found it very difficult to be a Nintendo fan because something happened in the industry that led to lifting up the PS brand, and bashing the Nintendo brand. It made me endlessly bitter.

After a few years on the chartz, and a few years of Sony struggling, as well as some exposure to some of Sony's A+ games, and then hearing about Sony's dedication to top-class content, I started to see the company in a different light.

The Last Guardian, a game by Team Ico, has been in development for many years. Announced in 2009, it's predecessor was released in 2006.

As the years go by, Sony is taking bruise after bruise from all sides of its business, ranging from TVs to smartphones, into the camera business and some of its videogame ventures. Despite the dedicated investments, certain ventures did not seem to pay off, and when things got more difficult, the commitment to those investments was hurt.

What does Sony represent for the industry? I believe Sony as a video games manufacturer represents a company that always wanted to be at the forefront of the competitive marketspace.

In its inception, UC was intended to be set in a midieval world, when Sony ordered Naughty Dog to add the nitty gritty to it.

The playstation move is also a case where Sony took an idea from Nintendo, and made it the most deluxe version of the hardware. This move was later expanded into even more complex peripherals.

It is a company that has given a lot to the industry, and as such I would not like to see things get worse for them. They have much more to bring to the industry in terms of top-quality content and hardware, something that can get video games closer to a more prestigious and openly accepted medium. As much as Nintendo is opening up the experience to many with its innovative ideas, and to a degree Microsoft, as much as Sony is pushing the envelope of removing the niche stigma of video games and bringing a more mainstream feel to the medium.

I hope they continue to carry the flame they are meant to shine in the industry, as long as they exist.

As a Nintendo fan, I was sad to see Sega, NEC, SNK, and Atari fall. Sega most of all because I had just began to enjoy Sega's style of gaming. I don't like seeing Sony in such dire straights because Sony pushes Nintendo and Nintendo pushes Sony. When a company tries their best and makes quality products, I think they deserve to be met with success. Sony just doesn't seem to be able to get all of the pieces of the puzzle to fit. Hope they get it together, soon.

Although I'm a Nintendo fan at heart, I play much more on my PS3 console than my Wii. I love Nintendo because of what they represent and their rich portfolio of IP's (Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, etc.); however, I find it sad that Sony is losing money in every department that they are currently in :( It would be a sad day if Sony would withdraw itself from the gaming market, hopefully this does not come to life.

I often find it hard to tell on these forums where people feel genuine disdain towards Sony; where they just like discussing Sony's doom but don't actually want them to fail; and where they just follow the crowd and jump on the bashing bandwagon.

I like to believe it's the latter, and it's just a buzz topic at the moment to discuss how much Sony sucks in amongst poor financials and a bleak future.

I personally don't want to see any of the big 3 fail, and I don't feel any contempt towards either Microsoft or Nintendo (in fact, I positively like Nintendo). But around these parts, it seems increasingly that you just pick a camp and stick to it, which never produces very fun discussions.

The more competition the better, it will make each company step their game up.

I'd love to see the big 3 return next gen, as well as other guys like Apple, Samsung, Panasonic...anyone! The more the better.

I don't care about the business at all i just care about what the developers are doing to make better games. Sony and MS as companies can go screw themselves for all i care. But then again if Sony collapses then i won't get to see some of the awesome games that they made anymore.

as a Nintendo fan the only thing I want from Sony now is that they get TLG finished! and released of course ...

Being loyal to one company doesn't necessarily mean being distant to its competitor ;)

Sony is merely in a transitional state, they will come back. They're in the process of replacing PSP with Vita, which as Nintendo fans we know is never an easy thing to do. They're in the process of pushing PS3 into as many homes as possible before releasing a new home console. They'll be fine.

As a Sony and Nintendo Fan, I am really sad for Sony situation right now. I have been with Sony since the beginning. the PS1 was the first home console I bought with my own money, and it is also my favorite console of all time. I need Sony and Nintendo for my gaming life to be complete and I hope they can rebound from their current financial situation.
