I would love nothing more than to play ZombiU whilst taking a gert big dump.

Since this is some sort of radio signal etc
A third party company could make some kind of device you have to connect to your PC that sends and receives the same signal the WiiU & controller do. Your computer is connected to a friends computer via internet and the friend also has this send/receive device.
Then I could have the WiiU in my house and the gamepad could be at a friends house. If the internet is fast enough etc this should work. (the game stream will be send over the internet like with GaiKai but since its only 854x480 or so it would work even better)
P.S. I already have something like this for my TV etc.

Can't since it will utilize both the gamepad and the tv screen. I think that only works on certain games that don't use the gamepad like it is used in ZombiU. Viper1 can clarify it more.
I think this is going to be one of the most hotly requested accessories for the Wii U (if not THE accessory everyone wants) -- some kind of signal expander for the Wii U wireless signal that lets you play anywhere in your house.
I'm not sure what the signal is exactly either, thought they refer to it as a "radio signal" in that Iwata Asks.
I could have done this with my 3DS, Nintendo, but thanks anyway!

The company that makes this workable is going to sell millions of them. I'd be happy if something like that just let me play anywhere in my house.

You've ruined my dream. Why would you do that?

This should be even easier. The WiiU and gamepad have "weak" signals a simple repeater with the same frequency should be able to increase the range dramatically.
And even if there is some kind of mini input lag or whatever I prefer gaming with input lag over not gaming at all and if I want no Input lag for multiplayer shooters or so I will go back to the living room or so.
