Yes, I think SSBB will generate a noticeable boost to Wii hardware and software. It will draw in the hardcore fence sitters but also those who already own a HD console and are looking to compliment it with a second console. I don't believe SSBB will hurt the sales of casual titles though - Wii Sports, Fit, Play will continue to sell well as per usual.
no it will hurt no Wii Series casual titles though... it will become the Multiplayer "game of choice"

I think we can all agree that any game with mario in it will sell.
I think the only way hardware will go up is with a increased shipment. I would not be surprised if the Japanese Wii numbers fall under 50k b/c Nintendo will try to stockpile for this release.

I do that many old ninty hardcore fans have wii. Look who stood out at launch to get one.
i think people overestimate the power of brawl. yes it will sell extremely well, but keep in mind that it preaches to the choir. people with wii's that are casual wont get it unless they already have melee. people who will buy a wii for it (me, although im a special case in this as i never bought a gc) most likely already have a wii or knew they were gona get one because of the gc. it will sell really well to those who planned on buying it anyways, which might seem like itll affect the console wars, but it wont take people away from ps3/360 but add a second console (like me) to their inventory.

I've never seen (myself, not youtube) anyone pick mario in either smash bros game unless going for an unlockable of some sort
