Forums - Sales - Which sales figures are more accurate now? NPD, Media Create, Vgchartz, Famitsu, etc

Anything but NPD.

We need moar Zelda, now!

We need moar Unchartedzz!

We need less DLCs.

If God of War III wasn't still undertracked by 800K units Vgchartz would have more respect from me, just saying... fix it... please?!

Vgchartz gets bashed a lot around the internet but I do like this site, most of the time it's fairly accurate, except for the dismal pre-order tracking.

its pretty obvious that vgchartz is towards the bottom of the list when it comes to accuracy.(When compared to NPD/media create/Chart-Track/Famitsu)

Considering we can view almost all the sales data for free I'm perfectly fine with dealing with that, though I will obviously sometimes complain when a more reputable tracker has numbers that are very different from vgchartz.

All these companies basically extrapolate data from stores they track, and while that works well on games that are selling a lot, sometimes it doesn't work well on smaller titles.

We can see that easily by comparing how different media create and famitsu numbers are for games that sell under 10k. Sometimes media create has a game selling twice as much as what famitsu has. So basically none of these tracker are 100% accurate, unless I am mistaken and one actually takes sales data from every single store that sells games.

Those who say VG Chartz is "inaccurate" or "not on other source's levels", when any other establishment tries to accumulate the amount of data that the Chartz does, then we could have a proper argument.

Far as I'm concerned, VGC is where it's at for data, and if you feel otherwise, I shouldn't expect to see you in any sales related topics. May sound like a rant, but the amount of moaning towards this site for just trying to inform gets needlessly redundant.

I agree with all you said.

I would also put Chart-Track high on that list. Certainly higher than NPD.

I think it is the best. Covering more than 90% of the UK!

Hey, you're the guy from COMG thread of yore. You're not around much here anymore, right?

Wrong.

Considering that Zelda SS still is undertracked here, I'm gonna go a head and say... Not VGC

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Media Create > Famitsu > Chart-Track > NPD > VGChartz > Pachter

Could you point me to the place where it is not undertracked? Was it their quarterly financials?

I have no idea. I don't know what NDP or famitsu or any one else say about those numbers. All I know is that VGC is doing a poor job with that game. If VGC's numbers ARE correct, that means no one bought a single copy these past 10 months!!!
