Forums - Gaming - Am I the only one who DOESN'T want new consoles soon??!!!?!

The only system that I have bought on launch week was the 3DS. We all know how well that ended. I am getting married this year so I will have less money to expend on video games. I have almost 50 games and counting that want to play on my PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii not counting all the games I want to play on my 3DS. I will not get the next xbox. I will get Wii U when I can get one for $250 and the PS4 when I can get one for $300. I can wait.

I can't keep up with the rate of new games constantly coming out. My backlog is already very large and it's increasing all the time. So I really don't want a new generation to launch before I have had a chance to catch up.

I also want the technology in the next gen to be as mature as possible, so a delay would suit me fine.

i think maybe its us older generation of gamers that dont want the new gen just yet, were a little more patiant, also we have been gaming since game were on casset tapes with 20 minute load screens, so what we have no we are happy with

Then where are the PC exclusive next gen softwere tech'd games that can't be done on console?  Answer:  DIABLO 3.

Consoles are holding the PC back.

Super high-end PC exclusives do not have a high-enough userbase to sell to in order to be profitable. If consoles were more powerful, then more powerful games would be made cross-platform on both the consoles and the PC, giving us PC gamers higher-end games. The PC can handle these games, but the current generation of consoles cannot, so the games simply aren't being made yet.

Hence, consoles holding back the PC market.

Not sure why you think D3 cant be done on consoles its not that graphically intensive. Either way consoles are holding back PC's cause games on PC could look and be much better(AI and the like) but they are usually lead developed for consoles. Sure there are mods and even developer provided skin kits, but for the majority of multiplatform games they stick close to the console specs because that is what is financally viable



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I'm actually really looking forward to the PS4 and Xbox 8 announcements, even though I'm sure I'm not gonna buy them before 2014.
Next E3 is gonna be interesting...

I see you've fallen in the same false sentiment of most PC gamer attitudes.

 

You see, You, like them, have forgotten that the majority of PCs are WALMART'ish grade computers.  These computers have to be programed and spec'd for from game developers as they are both needed & necessary to the ecology and economy of PC game development.

 

Guess what?  Those low end PC's and laptops are less capable game machines than the current HD consoles....certainly not more.

You forgot to factor that in....and I reminded you. So, You're welcome.

 

Low end PC's hold the industry back....not consoles.
