Why is this news to you? Isn't it a simple puzzle game? There are PS360 games that run in 1080p 60hz. I would expect no less of the Wii U.

Well, even though it's simple, it's too a launch title, and that's good news.

Not just that. It a launch title that is pulling of more technically than the PS3 and 360.

And you keep stating that kind of thing in almost every thread you create... why?

It's a given that the Wii U will be able to achieve more than the current systems running on 6-7 years old tech.  I don't know why you feel the need to focus on that so much.

Need to compensate much?

Compensate for what? It's the Other console fans who were the ones who came up behind every negative rumor insisting that the Wii U was incapable or on par(or less) with the last gen consoles. Lets, see how did it go again..was it the insult something like 3 wii's ductaped together or something like that?

I'm simply providing proof that they were and still are completely wrong, and and that any weakness the consle posesses in regards to the graphics vs. their preferred console is in their very own negative imagination.

Look, I'm happy that the Wii U is confirmed to have support for 1080p native. It's just that I would expect nothing less.

This is an old list so there are probably more now.

As of 12-06-2008

1080p Playstation 3 Games
--------------------------
1942: Joint Strike
Bejeweled 2
Blast Factor
Calling All Cars
Comet Crash
Disgaea 3
echocrome
Elefunk
Everyday Shooter
Fat Princess
Fifa Street 3
fl0w
Full Auto 2: Battlelines
Go! Sudoku
High Velocity Bowling
Linger in Shadows
Locoroco Cocoreccho
Lumines Supernova
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
NBA Street Homecourt
Pixeljunk Eden
Pixeljunk Monsters
Pixeljunk Racers
Piyotama
Ridge Racer 7
Rocketmen Axis of Evil
The Last Guy
Virtua Tennis 3
Wolf of the Battlefield Commando 3

1080p Xbox 360 Games
--------------------------
Boogie Bunnies
Fifa Street 3
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2
NBA Street Homecourt
Pinball FX
Virtua Tennis 3

Those 360 games are about as graphically intensive as an Xbox1 game. Heck, even the Wii could pull off 1080 with geometry wars if they wanted it to...literally(The Wii hardware is physically capable of Native 1080p display in case you didn't know).

Still, where is the info that the 360 and PS3 will be playing "this game" at 1080p like you said?

"Those 360 games are about as graphically intensive "

whats so graphically intensive about puddle?

Ask the devs because they couldn't get the 360 and PS3 to output it at 1080p/60 FPS.

You post over 9000 threads about that topic every week.

People were posting articles and bits of insight that came from multiple sources from the industry. The gap between the Wii U and the HD twins can be viewed as negligible by some, while great by others.  It all depends on what the devs (and us, gamers) expect what the leap in power should be from the current gen to the next.

As far as I know, the Wii U is indeed more capable than the current gen consoles (no shit, Sherlock!), but it doesn't provide a leap nearly as huge as we're used to see from one gen to the next (for example, from PS2 to PS3).

While Puddle was about as fun as its namesake, it did have a puddle of fluid moving around and probably had more going on than any of the 1080p 60fps games listed for the PS360 far as I can tell.

Sounds fun, I hope they release rock next in glorious 1080p.

And that is not true. It is a huge leap. In case people forgot, the hardware ran this.

It does that on "two screens at once".

The leap is larger than most people are willing to acknowledge.

Yes, it ran this. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who wasn't impressed by it.

Sure, it looks nice, but not really what I consider a generational leap. Not in the slightest.

devs enhance late ports regularly but that doesn't mean that the original platforms couldn't have supported the game in 1080/60fps

Maybe it's not PS2 to PS3. Maybe it's N64 to Dreamcast. Or Xbox to 360. Seeing how you're comparing the PS3, the most powerful console of the current generation, to Wii U, the weakest of the next.

That's beside the point. The PS2 was also the weakest of its gen.

Wait, so this

is more graphically intensive then this?

I have no doubt the WiiU can produce better then WipeoutHD on ps3.
The real news here is that it can stream 60fps to the WiiU pad. (Although the pad is only 854x480, maybe not that impressive after all)
