Forums - Gaming - Dear Steve: We noticed you played this game

And isn't it cool?! look at all the cool things you can get/do with it, wow!!!

Is anyone else tired of recieving these emails? I find them very intrusive and infuriating. EA are the biggest culprits followed by THQ from my experience and now Sony seems to want in on the act. I just want to play the game without someone trying to do a psych test on me, sell me crap or any addendums they might want to add, just back the hell off!!!

Im sorry, but what?

Yay!!!

Context would be helpful, here. I for one never receive such emails, is this for PC gaming or something? Are you receiving these via Origin or something?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Really? Just me then? Basically, after playing games from certain companies, I get emails from the makers of said game saying I should play more and interact with it.

For example, after playing SSX, I got an email saying I should connect with my facebook, my twitter, the SSX website, Ridernet.

My complaint is I just want to play the game and leave it at that without having to join anything else.

Trying to post the email can't seem to paste it in here ¬_¬

Hm.. I'm a big PC gamer, own all consoles this gen, and have never had this happen once.

Report the email as spam so you stop receiving them.

the trick is when you sign up for anything to make sure the box that says send me info/updates/news/what ever isn't checked. If it is you will get emails that are ads trying to get you to buy the products they think you are interested in. There is the option for ms when i signed up with them, and with sony. Origin probably does it too.

Not an Origin user but I did have to sign up for EA gubbins a while ago when it wouldn't allow me to play a game I bought unless I signed up to something which I didn't think much of at the time but now seems like a dick move on their part.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Dear Steve,

When you didn't respond, we started to worry that something had happened to you. Maybe you had been in a car accident and were now lying in a coma, drifting somewhere between life and death. Then we checked your PSN profile and saw that you've been playing all sorts of games, including our very own SSX™ (Mt. Eddie DLC now available)! And now we see that you're sharing our letters and laughing at them with your friends? We thought we had something special, Steve, but it seems that we were wrong. Well, don't worry. Our mothers always told us if you love something you have to let it go. So that's it. Just go, if that's what you really want.

Yours truly,
EA Sports

P.S. We've been fucking d21lewis for months now, anyway.
