Any why would you get upset by having a minority opinion on things?  Only basis I can see for upset, is that you end up feeling you have a lack of connection in a given area.

Pretty much, to be short, why care what is going on in the heads of other people?

It would show me that the majority of the world are pretty unintelligent. Ff they believe a jolly man in a red suit enters their home every Christmas night sneaking in presents. If so many people were that unintelligent, then yes...I would be upset.

Jersey Shore got to be pretty popular also.  You do realize there is multitude of other things that show a lack of intelligence on the part of the mass population.  If masses of people showing a lack of intelligence bothers you, you must be angry all the time then.  But, this also does show that you value intelligence above a lot of other things, like having good character and being able to get along with.  And, you are likely going to be furious at me, if I happen to successfully sell the world's worst boardgame, avertising it is horrible, with no redeeming features.

I'm not entierly sure what the question is about. But I certainly don't hate the nordic gods, they are badass. Afterlife of feasting and fighting for the win :D

lol, pure win!

It is cute, but you can't make out anywhere where Jesus promised to get rid of all evil people.

The parable of the wheat and tares goes into specifically as it NOT being a promise:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable_of_the_Tares

And this shows one thing about people who end up disliking and opposing something.  They will usually have a cartoon characterization of the thing they dislike and oppose and mock, that doesn't do it justice.  It takes a degree of respect to get the understanding right, and that will usually limit the mocking and disliking.

While it is pretty much in the past Pagans and Christians do have a long history of not liking each other.  Both sides killed each other, forced converted, etc since the beginning of Christianity.  You can't expect people to act rationally when it comes to religion.  Usually the argument boils down to your religion is wrong and you are going to hell for it.  How can you expect to act civil to a group of people that has condemned you to hell?

1. Having low standards for entertainment =/= believing in something as absurd as santa clause.

2. Yes, I realize that. But there is no mass belief as absurd as beliving in santa clause. Nothing. The mere fact that you could stay up all night and witness for yourself that there is no santa clause proves that believing in him is only possible if you're supremely unintelligent, like borderline retarded. Belief in Santa is infinitely more absurd than any religious beliefs in the world. Because of the simple fact that anyone can prove that he doesn't exist.

3. Demonstrate how I value intelligence over having good character and being able to get along with. This should be interesting.

4. Having low standards for entertainment =/= believing in something as absurd as santa clause.

So you never believed in Santa?  I think it is a pretty good analogy myself.  A lot of young kids are tricked into believing there is a Santa.  Why are they tricked?  Because of a tradition that was passed down to tell these kids this fairy tale lie.  I don't see how that is far off from someone passing down religious beliefs.

Believing in Santa is crazier than believing in a certain religion. Anyone could stay up all night and see that there is not Santa. But there's really no definite way to disprove a lot of religions. So at least theists can't be proven wrong.

I do welcome a better analogy of someone having a belief they grow out of.  And it would fit into similar, because it is argued, a reason why people are upset at religion, is because it indoctrinates kids into things that are wrong.  Society ends up perpetuating a lie about Santa to kids, to the extent that Christian fundamentalists who refuse to teach kids about Santa and do Christmas, are seen as social deviates who hate kids.

Thing is that people outgrow and move on from being tricked about Santa, but others who move from beyond God, end up being angry over it.

And yet, while crazier, there isn't the level of rage over the issue of people believing something when they were younger and moving on from it.  There are other issues here involved, likely involving a person's world view, priorities, and feeling like they don't fit in or are accepted.  It is an anger at the world for not fitting one's preferences.  It is wishing that the entire world would just sing "Imagine" and end up believing it, throw out religion, replace it with nothing, and then suddenly we have this utopia of peace, love and brotherhood.  It is a concept that a non-existent being is responsible for all the evil in the world, or a large degree of it.  This venting is NOT thrown at Santa.

I'm not sure what you mean. I don't have a problem with people believing in any deity. Nor do I have a problem with young kids believing in Santa Clause. But I would have a problem, hypothetically, if a large amount of full grown adults walked around believing in Santa Clause. The reason being that a belief in Santa is just dumb for any adult. The same can't be said for religions, at least not all of them.
