Any why would you get upset by having a minority opinion on things?  Only basis I can see for upset, is that you end up feeling you have a lack of connection in a given area.

Pretty much, to be short, why care what is going on in the heads of other people?

It would show me that the majority of the world are pretty unintelligent. Ff they believe a jolly man in a red suit enters their home every Christmas night sneaking in presents. If so many people were that unintelligent, then yes...I would be upset.

So you never believed in Santa?  I think it is a pretty good analogy myself.  A lot of young kids are tricked into believing there is a Santa.  Why are they tricked?  Because of a tradition that was passed down to tell these kids this fairy tale lie.  I don't see how that is far off from someone passing down religious beliefs.

I do welcome a better analogy of someone having a belief they grow out of.  And it would fit into similar, because it is argued, a reason why people are upset at religion, is because it indoctrinates kids into things that are wrong.  Society ends up perpetuating a lie about Santa to kids, to the extent that Christian fundamentalists who refuse to teach kids about Santa and do Christmas, are seen as social deviates who hate kids.

Thing is that people outgrow and move on from being tricked about Santa, but others who move from beyond God, end up being angry over it.
