Forums - Nintendo - Will Wii end up being outsold both in NA and Europe?

Where will Wii be outsold?

NA and Europe. 56 41.79%

Only NA. 8 5.97%

Only Europe. 17 12.69%

Nowhere. 53 39.55%

Total:134

I`m not sure if it will or if it won`t, but i feel is that a 99$/€ will put a good fight - specially if Nintendo and 3rd parties won`t forsake the console for good.

Wii is still a strong brand and for low income families and all those PS3/Xbox 360 owners who always wanted one but didn`t think the price was right for them, the 99 price tag is more than tempting.
In Europe, we are seeing a few good countries going through tough times, and for newcomers the 99 console with a lot of good and cheap games, is a really good choice.
In essence, it will all depend on how Wii will be marketed: 99 price tag, new colours (like N64) an increased line-up of Nintendo Select games, more games with your console, 50$/€ for Wii Fit, etc...

I know that PS3 and Xbox 360 are getting owned by newcomers but these consoles are still priced too high for the coming of a new generation (Wii U) and that`s going to take it`s toll on them. 2013 might be the time where that could happen, seeing as there will be discounts during BF and Christmas for those consoles.

In 2013, if the HD twins don`t get a price cut, they will have to share attention with a 99 Wii and a 300 Wii U, with a really good line-up - one of them beeing Mario! - with a future ahead.

maybe a $99 price tag on wii after wii u is released can halt sales of ps360... it all depends on the wii u... it can really paralyzed the sale of the two

Make bets based on this faulty data here is not smart. The numbers here are wrong close but wrong. And Nintendo can drop the price of the wii to $99 and make this whole thread worthless. So keep trolling. And stop basing facts on this site. Because the numbers may be adjusted and prove just how full of troll you are.

Starting to lose it, huh?

But not willing to bet. I rest my case.

Why bet? I told you they are not outselling around the world. And your comment on my comments does not change that. So troll going to troll. You can not change what is going on in the world. Plus most on the people buying the systems already have them. So who are all these millions of magical people who are going to buy the 6+ year old systems?

Again with WW?

If you are so sure, bet. If not, even you don't believe what you say. Simple as that. You know very well that this "magical numbers" thing is BS, X360 will outsell Wii in NA looking at current trends, it's guaranteed man. You are cornered and have no arguments...

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

never

Wii will drop to very cheap price and sell a lot during christmas, like NES was selling when Super Nes was realised

It will be a system for younger

@Oniyide No as always you are spewing things you want to believe instead of the truth. The Wii didn't die because it was missing the "big guns" lol. You guys tend to ignor even with the "big guns" the 360 and PS3 still came up short. It didn't need Cod, it had the Wii series games. It didn't need GTA it had Mario. The point is the Wii did as well as it did because Ninty continued to support it and the few 3rd parties doing well on it, gave it enough help as well. The 360/PS3 received CoD every year like the Wii receives Just Dance. The 360 recieves Halo every two years like the the Wii could have recieved the Mario games. Instead Ninty didn't do this because they know of something called market saturation and also unlike certian companies Ninty would like to not rely on price cuts to sustain a platform because in the end the platform begins to start making less and less revenue. So they move on and push a new platform. It had what it needed and could have recieved plenty more if Ninty cared about selling 150 million and then selling they're next platform to halve of that. They would rather sell 100 million every gen instead 150 million once and never seeing that success again.

@phenom, what does that have to do with the topic?
