Yes, but people will continue to buy them. The sports games have an excuse(sort of), but Cod doesn't.

Be careful what you wish for. This is what a lot of my friends and I wished for as a kid, instead of releasing a new game in the franchise many years after the last. We wanted them to just keep making sequels to the games with new levels. We wanted a follow up to Super Mario Bros II, Super Metroid, Zelda II, LoZ aLttP, Star Fox (SNES). Some games did this, like Mega Man, Castlevania, Adventures of Lolo.

It seems to happen more often now, but I'm fine with it. I enjoy the CoD single player campaigns and Assassin's Creed games.

Last gen games are great with new releases every year. Nowadays with online and DLC it is pointless. A yearly sequel game is great but DLC turned into a sequel is not. COD has DLC maps and stuff and what does the new game have? New maps and stuff.

IMHO It is to expensive when you own last years version of the same game etc.

I would like to see something like this:

  FIFA13 for 60 bucks (because not all people have it) So if a person who never had Fifa wants it the person has to pay full price.

If a person has Fifa 12 already let this person upgrade to Fifa 13 for 10 dollars. (because its basically a simple small DLC every year)

If a person has Fifa 11 let this person buy Fifa 13 for 25 dollars. (like $5 penalty for skipping 1 year but this person would still have to buy both "upgrades")

If a person has Fifa 10 let this person buy Fifa 13 for 40 dollars. (2x $5 penalty this time and 3x $10 upgrades)

If a person has Fifa 09 or older well sorry you have to pay the full price.

They would have to include 1x activation keys for this to work or something like that.

I don't mind yearly releases. The public have a choice if they will buy it.

Oh, that... Well, I don't see why there would be a problem just because people want slight upgrades to a video game of their preference. It's their money and they expect value from the purchase, nothing wrong about that. If they ever want more change they can obviously just turn to another series.

There isn't a problem as long as whoever is buying the game doesn't mind paying the money for the same game year after year.
