Maybe he's finally got burned out with dem 100 hour work weeks.

This made me honestly laugh out loud. Superb As for Clifford, he is gonna make his own studio, and he probably took some old liberal Epic staff with him. He'll make a corny iOS game and some indie PC stuff and live the rest of his life happy making niche "creative" games.

I have respect for him as a developer, but never liked the guy. What I'm about to say is off topic. And I've said this several times before.

I never liked Cliffy or David Jaffe because of their big stupid mouths. People just brushed it off as 'outspoken'. "they're just very outspoken and opinionated". No they are obnoxious attention whores, and I've hated these guys for the longest.

Good luck Cliffy.

Maybe he is really interested in the Wii U and wants to make a game for it, thus he had to leave Epic Games.

I'm thinking something along these lines. It seems he likes to make games and it was probally an idealogical fallout. Epic wants cutting edge graphics on powerful machines to push their vision. So by this point it probally is a PC only mentality at Epic and they are moving away from the PS3/360.

interesting! i can see him going to many companies. nintendo because he was talking very good the last weeks about wii u. i mean, maybe he was preparing us for this info^^ maybe sony because sony knows he's the guy who can make what xbox players love. just imagine a game same quality as gears of war on a ps3 released under his name. if i would be sony i would try to get that guy. maybe microsoft because microsoft believes the same, he has to be at microsoft because he is the guy who can please xbox gamers with new games. or an own studio and if he opens an own studio i say it will be a game released for wii u and maybe theother console and/or pc.

what i don't believe is that he left for the reason one guy said here, because he can't get out more of the 360 and that's why he will go to naughty dog. i mean, it's not as if his next project at epic games wouldn't be for the next console generation...so it isn't necessary if 360 can't get better. but he could still go to naughty dog but not because of the 360.

or really a huge break, who knows...

I doubt he'd join ND, what would his position be? It would be a step down.

I doubt he'll work on a game for the Wii U unless it's multi-platform.

Maybe Microsoft, but probably his own thing like that ex-cod dev.

Can't say I'm a big fan of Cliffy B, but for some reason I was pretty shocked when I read this. I really hope he stays in the industry, it would be quite a loss if he retires all together.

I'm really surprised to hear he's leaving.

We never heard of any problems between him and Epic and I didn't imagine him as someone who leaves his job in the middle of the development of his game, Fortnite.

Really surprising.

Anyway, I agree with those that think that he will start his own studio rather than joining an existing one.

Soon their game would be nothing but a cash-grabber since they lost a lot of professional these days ~~

as long as he doesn't go on to make a game about a magic time traveling sword, he will be ok

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
