I actually despise 3d, it makes everything weird and hard to focus on. I REALLY hope it dies for realzies soon.

How do they make old films in 3D that weren't shot in 3D? Does it look good like modern 3D?

| JoeTheBro said: Hey I'm posting again but do you want to know why 3D is here to stay? 4 out of 5 of the highest grossing films of all time are in 3D. Only 13 movies in history have made over a billion dollars. 4 of them only managed that feat because of being in 3D. Just wanted to share some stats. |
To me it depends on who's making money off the 3D price. By that, I mean that if it's the theaters that pocket most of the 2-3 extra bucks for the 3D version and that the film makers make about the same amount of money on the ticket sold regardless of what version of the movie is chosen (I honestly don't know how the revenues are split up) then they might end up not bothering if 3D doesn't bring them additional viewers (people who go see the movie BECAUSE it's in 3D).
For example, the 3D in Alice in Wonderland brought absolutely nothing to the movie. I even forgot the movie was in 3D for a while. I believe the attendance for this movie would have been approximatively the same if there hadn't been any 3D version.
Signature goes here!
3D will take off when they'll find a system that isn't tiring for the eyes, neither needs glasses, nor requires the watcher to stay stuck in a precise position to watch it.
The really good 3d effects are just too expensive at this point, needs more time in the oven all around. Glasses free sucks as well as you have to keep at a certain position or else you lose the effect.
Since 3D has ruined my movie-going experience i want it dead, deader than dead. I wish it would go away and never come back.
I like 3d on my TV sometimes. UC 3 looks legit, but other games like Arkham City hurt my head. Come to think about, even in 2d, the Arkham games hurt my head. Anyone else experience this?

3D gaming on my projector is awesome. Its just not suited for everyone and there were too many graphical sacrifices this Gen. I loved Gears 3 and didn't mind the resolution drop as they got the 3D effect spot on. I think its here to stay in gaming but will always be a niche. I wouldnt let kids play for long in 3D for example as I think it would be bad for them.

I agree, the technology is getting better, and next gen should be able to pull of some good quality 3D.
Have you seen Gears of War3 in 3D? The little I have seen was utterly fantastic.
I get so frustrated with the people 'I've never seen it, I don't care.' It's like calling Nutella useless when you have never tasted it.
