Forums - Gaming Discussion - RUMOR: FFXV to be revealed at E3 2014 for PS3/360/WiiU. Released in 2015.

Yasumi Matsuno - Scenario.

Sounds too good to be true.

And this trustworthy source is not really good enough. They've failed us on several occassions now.

An 8 year development cycle is too long, and I hate to say this, but I'm getting too old for this shit.

An 8 years development cycle also isnt Yochi Wada's style.

I'm not so sure about targeting body parts. In vagrant story it rarely served more purpose other than to slow the base of battle...

As for it being on current systems only. this is only viable if it has a 2014 release, 2015 would really be pushing it. It would be overshadowed by the next gen titles.

But it will be interesting. It definitely won't come early 2014 because LR:FFXIII, I'd wager a bet FFvXIII comes out late 2014, so a 2015 date makes sense i suppose.

Sadly, FF15 will have to be completely fucking amazing for me to even bother looking at it. The FF franchise has been mostly dead to me since FFX, with a brief awakening from its coma with FF12.

Who did the story for FF13? If its the same guy, then I"m going to pass.

Writer of Tactics Ogre, FF Tactics, Vagrant Story, and FF12. Although FF12 dosent really count since Square Enix interfered with the development to make the game more marketable to the adolescene Japanese auidence.

Quite possibility the best writer in the gaming industry. This game has nothing to do with the developers of FF13.

However this source of information has failed us on several occassions; our trustworthy source is telling us what we want to hear, I'm skeptical if any of this is true with no evidence whatsoever.

Yeah this is totally trash, no way this can be real. I still believe Square will simply annouce FFv13 as FF15 and have it release (at some point, no idea when, Square take forever to do anything).

2015? and Wii U? As intriguing as the gambit v2.0 concept is, I shall take this with a grain of salt.

So they rather postpone a game that everyone's been waiting for and missing out on the profits for FFXIV which was a huge flop instead of just cancelling the improved version (which will probably flop as well) ?

Yep sounds like Square-Enix.

They are actually putting alot of effort and making good decisions with FFXIV a realm reborn. Most of all they did what i thought was essential to the game, wich is to have the classic FF jobs return.

I belive they might be getting thier act together.

Even FFXIII-3 (or lightning bla whatever they wanna call it) seems to be an atempt at apologizing for the series in a game that might actually be good.

All I want is Lightning Forever : Final Fantasy XIII ...when is that sequel gonna be announced?

FFXV will be exciting though.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I don't know, would Level 5 give Matsuno back to Square for this game?

Edit: And if they even have 800 people working at this game for even 2 years straight, that's 80 million dollars (At an average of 50k a year) funneled right there.  I don't think Square would invest over a hundred million dollars (7 years of dev time) into a game that will most likely not sell more than Final Fantasy 13.  They would loose a serious amount of cash even if the game sells the same amount of Final Fantasy 13 did...

LOLOLOLOL releasing in 2015 for PS360 LOLOLOLOL

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
