Uh....I wish people would learn to stop comparing consoles to PCs. It's not at all accurate.

Quickly, they've changed it back to e6760 - put 7970m, it's 10x more powerful than Xenos and only 75-100W TDP - that should stir the pot ;)

So I got a no reply email as I expected. I didn't really ask about the WiiU gpu tho.
I asked if the emails floating around are real or fakes and attached a jpg file with the email in OP's post. Support dude totally ignored that part...
But at least the one strange thing that made me totally thing OP's picture is fake which was the exclamation mark "....contacting AMD->!<-" seems to be normal for AMD.

This is the responce I got if anyone is interested

Response and Service Request History:
From your submission I understand you are looking for information on the Wii U and its graphics processor. If this is not correct, please let me know, it may change my answer.
Unfortunately there is no information available from AMD on the Wii U. This is a Nintendo product that I understand will be using and AMD GPU but the specifics of the GPU are not yet available from Nintendo.
Nintendo will have to confirm any specifics on their product, this information would not come from AMD.
Nintendo may be waiting for an official release of the product to verify any hardware information on it though. I would suggest contacting Nintendo for any information they currently have on their upcoming console system.
In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service request reference intact.
If AMD does not get a response back from you in 10 days, the ticket will be closed, and you will need to open a new ticket if your issue is not yet resolved
Best regards,

I knew it! Nintendo doesn't know at all what AMD sold it, they'll know when the first user will open one and post what's inside it on youtube!
The curious thing is that AMD doesn't know what they sold them, either.

more like 99.99% there are probably like a dozzen people at AMD with detailed info on the Wii U GPU. But AMD has 11,705 employees as of the start of this year.

thus making any rumours least credible. The only people with real knowledge are probably high level executives and top level engineers.

Nor the below. You said it didn't cost $100... and it cost less. There are two sources where it clearly costs $100 or more. (Well actually multiple sources for two versions of the E6760 costing more. Including an E6760 that was just released LAST YEAR. The E6760 clearly costs more then $100 as you can see from the last link given to you.)
All together though, your argument is just weird since console are often radically different from PC GPUs after being redesigned. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/01/24/xbox-720-will-be-six-times-as-powerful-as-current-gen |
R700 is the chip that is comparable with the WiiU GPU.
For a 2012 console, not matter what happens, the Wii U will not be kicking out graphics that are anyway near as good as gaming PC's from a few years ago. In short, with that GPU, the WiiU really isn't a next-gen console.

It would (probably) be more than a dozen, probably closer to 100 people who had a good idea of what is being used, but the general point is correct ...
Essentially, the core team and those who supported them would no exactly what it is but many people who worked on the same floor of the same building within the same division would have some information about the project. (Of course) unlike some low level employee, most of these employees are not likely to leak any information; besides the occassional item that slips to their family who, for the most part, won't understand what was said.
