R700 is the chip that is comparable with the WiiU GPU.
For a 2012 console, not matter what happens, the Wii U will not be kicking out graphics that are anyway near as good as gaming PC's from a few years ago. In short, with that GPU, the WiiU really isn't a next-gen console.
