Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sony killed Kevin Butler

I noticed that the other day. Wonder if it was contract related and Bridgestone had to remove it. Or if they just did it out of goodwill.

Probably non-compete cause related, and Sony decided to have its lawyers make some phone calls.  It could be also that Sony realizes that Kevin Butler is too strong of a brand for them to let go.  Maybe Jerry gets more work from Sony.

Edit: Also, I think Sony needed to keep an eye on the narrative for Kevin Butler.  They had Kevin Butler being so loyal to Sony he returned "no matter what" after leaving for a said president job:

Jerry is so identified with Kevin Butler now, it is hard for him to go anywhere else and do any other work.

He can do ads for non-gaming companies/related items. He can go back to doing tv, or movies or stage... so no, no they didn't.

Bridgestone knew what they were doing when they cast him in that ad.

They didn't cast him for that add though.

They cast him as aprt of the two man bridgestone team that did all the adds from that point on.  He and that old guy had been at least two previous adds before that.

So much for that Scorsese movie that he would have starred in.
