Do you realize how shallow that answer is? Do you consider the option of Nintendo taking cues from Sony and integrating them partially into their current business model, mix and match?
Do you realize that the playstation 2 dominated its generation hands down? The Wii is less spectacular in that regard.
You might want to think this over.

Nintendo applys the light-hearted and child-like (with color scales and all) approach to games, which is why they are considered the disney of videogames. They are made to attract children and generally casuals. You'll find this is true with Nintendo products being more dear to women and children than any other brand and actually sharing a proper percentage of sales between males and females. The DS was like 50/50 in sales between both genders where as the others were dominated by men. I am sure the Wii was somewhere up there too. It's not that Nintendo isn't good at making certain games...it's that they don't want to because their first part represents them as a company. |
Yep just look at Fire Emblem, Metroid, Zelda, Captain Falcon, Xenoblade, and The Last Story. All clearly for the kids and casual lol. Instead of seeing what you want to see how about actually back things up with proof. If Ninty is for children because of Mario and the Wii games then so is Sony because of the LBP franchise, Move games, and Wonderbook. Why do you ignore Ninty's core titles?

And yet now Sony is in last, please stop living in the past lol. The Wii is less spectacular in what regard lol? They both won their generations, are you that upset over Sony losing. Taking cues from Sony? What cues does Ninty need to take? This is just Sony fans trying to feel like Sony is doing well.

PS2's victory was largely due to strategic reasons, and had relatively little to do with Sony's first party studios.

I'm a Nintendo fan >.>
@Mr. Khan. In part true. In the mean time, Sony still manages to sell 65M+ units. Their games still sell strongly, and have the appeal and potential to carry Sony forward still. Sony has a backbone for a core market, Nintendo does not.
Though the PS2 did prevail due to a strong strategy, the point I was trying to make is that Nintendo was not able to achieve what the PS2 achieved by employing a very competitive strategy with the Wii. The missing piece of the puzzle? Homer said it: prestige. Nintendo doesn't have it... yet.

Or maybe ex-Sony employees from ND or Team Ico. To be honest I've never played XB. I know I should, but anyways I haven't. From what I saw it pulls from the world of fantasy. But have you played Shadow of the Colossus? It's incredible and goes beyond fantasy into the surreal. @Pavo. I tried to get the link where Iwata said he wanted to offer older experiences (not more mature just more relevant to an older audience, deeper), but I couldn't find it. |
Interesting. Retro new game and Bayonetta comes to my mind. Maybe MH also.
That also could applie to something like Prime or a TP Zelda. We don't now what means for Nintendo "deeper" (I'm ok with Prime 4) or if that means a new IP or using the same franchises.

I obviously not alone in wanting something like this. How many here has ONLY got a Wii? They shouldn't stop doing what they're doing, just add some. |
They simply cannot make games for everyone. Sorry that's impossible. Neither MS or Sony does. That's why third party support is important.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
