Hmm, it's actually quite better than the original
More ergonomic too

If only the accessory were cheaper, more people wouldn't mind to get it. $9.99 price please.

They should have just built it like it's current cousins, the WiiU gamepad and the Wii U Classicl Pro Controler. Make the 4 buttons adjacently across from the D-Pad, and the two circle pads adjacently across as well. They have a whole right section of the 3DS that is empty.

I personally don't care as I no longer own one, but clearly it is pissing customers off who have to lug around a clunky external device for an experience that is supposed to be mobile

I still refuse to buy the Circle Pad Pro and won't be buying any games that use it, why can't Nintendo just get it right and make a new model with a second analogue already on it?

You're butting against a wall man, just enjoy the games you want with the features you want. There is a reason why Nintendo did this, and odds are they will not change their stance on it anytime soon.

Nobody's forcing you to buy it, it's there for people who want it. There isn't anywhere in the XL that an extra slidepad would fit either.

That is a size comparison, right?

XL becomes barely bigger than the normal 3DS.

I think Nintendo mainly didn't put a second circle pad on the device for appearances. They want the system to look simple and inviting to casual and non-gamers. A second circle pad makes it look far more complex and daunting. I'm not saying they made the right choice but I see the logic behind it.

@Basil- It works with certain games only. Resident Evil benefits from it, and Kingdom Hearts to a lesser extent. You can use it for Kid Icarus, but that's only for lefty flip purposes. Based on monster hunter tri, it should be nearly a necessity for Monster Hunter on the 3DS.

Ninty should have made a "clip on" type design that fit under the face buttons.

Why don't they just rip off Nyko's version:
