Apple should do more for the price they are charging people!

You mean like sell a phone that outperforms the SIII for the same price?

Oh, wait. They just did tha

>_>

they do sell outdated phones for higher prices but you don't have to see that if you don't want to....

Also, I edited your OP to include the video, and I took the liberty to remove the "Totally describes Apple fanboys" comment. Be nice mister. ^_~

Businesses don't care if a customer is douchey. They only care if they have money. Insulting potential customers is not a solid business plan. This commercial plays like self-congratulatory nonsense. People who have Android phones and like them will chuckle while owners of other phones will say "what a bunch of dicks".

This isn't unlike those awful Mac/PC ads from years ago where Apple caught a lot of flak for basically insulting potential customers.

The Mac/PC ads went viral. You're dismissing a hugely aggressive and potentially highly successful ad campain because what, some customers won't accept it? It doesn't make sense. It will shock many, enough to make it matter, and that's what counts. The rest is hogwash.

And BTW, how do you add a video in the first post? For some reason I don't have the option...

Of course, I can see the Apple fans:

"We are idiots, we'll but the Galaxy S3 instead." It just doesn't work that way.

Had Apple made the exact same ad against Samsung, everyone would be hating and insulting right now.

There are fans, and there are fans. Also, this may not target apple fans but just people who have been infected with the "Apple is everything" syndrome, and a commercial like this helps break the stigma. For a company like Samsung, that's smart business, and it's something Apple themselves have employed in the past.

So jeer all you want, it's fact.

Those ads were so "successful" that surveys revealed people were more sympathetic to the PC character than they were the Mac. That's hardly a ringing endorsement of the campaign, which they quickly scaled back into a less agressive stance and played up the funnier aspects of the duo instead of just ripping PC owners.

It was insulting to me.

Yes, and since it's Samsung, they get a free pass on this site.

I find it's easy to say after the fact what was successful and what wasn't successful, kind of like when someone tries to open a lid and fails, but the person who comes after pops it open easily. It's not as simple as it seems. To me, those ads served their purpose in preparing the ground for what Apple did afterwards and imho it worked. I don't have surveys, but I can tell you that those ads shocked me and made a statement to me, and many other people I know.

And BTW, how do you add a video in the first post? For some reason I don't have the option...

The "add video" button is really finnicky for some reason. In regular posts there's the "Insert/Edit Embedded Media" button which makes things easy (just copy/paste the youtube url). But this button disappears if you try and go back and edit the post. Weird.

For OP's, the button doesn't show up... so you have to embed the video through the HTML button. Go to the YouTube Video you want, click the "share" button and then click the "embed" button. Make sure the "Use old embed code" box is clicked, and then copy the address that comes up in the box.

Go back to VGChartz, click the HTML button (a new page comes up), and then paste the address into the post. Press Update and then hit submit.

That was easy. Right? :D

(Yeah it's a complete mess)
