Fun fact: PS3 pre-orders were sold out as well.

And I'm glad I'm one of em to get one at launch.

oh, you got a PS3 at launch?

Yes. well my dad and I got one. I think the laucnh game we got was MG4. Can't remember. If Ground Zeroes was a PS4 lauch game then I'll make sure I'll preorder asap!

Metal Gear Solid 4 came out 2 years after the PS3 launched O.o...

Damn. then I totally can't remember then lol.  Now im curious. I'm gonna ask my dad what he got at launch.

edit: Sorry. My dad got Resistance 1, not MG4. My bad :p . I guess I was too bust playing Zelda Twlight Princess at that time ;)

Aye, tis was a fine game.

Exactly, no one knows. We shouldn't take it either way.

Even Pachter's body is getting readified.

And last but not least, this guy's body is ready:

If Nintendo had a soul speaking to its fans, it would sound like that.

I think nearly all home console machines sell out on launch day pre-orders. The Wii was a first for the industry though, with such high demand that shortages persisted 6+ months. I don't think that will happen with Wii U, but who knows... it's all some kind of domino effect with shortage creating demand which creates the shortage.

Another fun fact: only at GameStop and EB ;). Not across multiple online retailers as is the case here.

At least as far as I've been able to find.

I'm curious how the shipments compare to the other consoles launch.

We all know Xbox sold out too, but it sold like 4 units at launch due to supply constrains. PS3 outsold at launch too, all 20 of them.

Let's hope Nintendo manufactures more than 100.

Nintendo intends to sell 5 million units before the end of March, so they should have a decent shipment ready for launch.

WiiU will never match PS3. Which will have no shooting involved.

Is this really an ENTIRELY good thing though?

I man, it's great for Nintendo that so many people want their system, but if production can't meet demand, won't that mean lost sales for them? (Surely some people who miss out won't be bothered to chase one up later one the launch hype dies)
