Oh so it will have local multiplayer.

It's fine, then, that's all it needed in Japan and the console versions are typically bigger in the West (I think).

All the more reason a handheld needs online MP, never gonna grow otherwise.

Kylie Dog, you're one of my favorite posters.  You pessimissm and negative spin on everything Ninty is very entertaining to me.  Keep it up!

EDIT: Why do I feel like libro is always banned?  I wonder what he said in the NG3 thread.

Well there are 50 big monsters in 3G compared to 18 in Tri. There are also more small monsters and at least two new areas. Plus you can use 12 different weapon classes compared to 7 in Tri.

3G looks really nice on the 3ds (way better then portable 3rd on PSP which they ported to PS3) so it will probably look alright on WiiU.

What I'm interested in is exactly how much extra content the Wii U version will have over Tri.
I played the hell out of the Wii game, so as much as I love MH, if I'm going to lay down the cash, I want to get more than just a few new monsters.

Your wish is granted.

This is from gaf

Monster Hunter Tri
# Small Monsters: 17
# Large Monsters: 18
# Total Monsters: 35

Monster Hunter Tri G
# Small Monsters: 22
# Large Monsters: 50
# Total Monsters: 72

wow, looks like a lot... can the new version upgrades the game by the same amount?

Holy fuck.  That's a HUGE difference.

Oh man, March is gonna be so epic.

I thought Tri on Wii looked very good.  Had very nice artwork.  Only bumping the resolution to 720p alone will be fine by me.

whats the point of cross playing between the two versions then?

For diehards like me and VicViper:

well add me to that list, I've been playing it since the very first game =]

I think the intention here is to sell the Wii U version over the handheld one (which will sell well anyway) as a way of improving Wii U sales.

I dont think Capcom cares enough about that to hurt their own game...im thinking its just laziness (for lack of a better word)

Libro got banned again?? lordy, some people dont learn

No online no buy for 3ds. I already played the hell out of tri for wii, so I'm not looking forward to it o wiiu especially if it uses wii graphics, which are good for 3ds and wii , but not for wiiU. Too bad I would have got it in a hearbeat for 3ds if it only had online was really looking forward to it on a poratbale.

Utterly disappointed by Capcom

I don't need online on the 3DS since I buy both versions anyway and I can only go online when I'm at home so I will play on the Wii U. But I can take the 3DS version with me and farm stuff or do easier quests on the go and then transfer my save over to the U to do some serious quests.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
