Forums - Nintendo - Bayonetta 2 100% exclusive for the Wii U!!

One of the few few few games I enjoyed this generation. I don't think I am buying any new console anymore though, good for those who are getting it for the U. I hope they port it one day so others could enjoy it.

I smell flop sales wise.

Probably sega deluxe something port in a year on next gen ps/xbox.

Yeah, I also think the game will flop.   People who already have batonetta 1 wont buy a new console just for the sequel, so sales will depend just in nintendo fans who only (in most cases) like mario, pokemon, and any other nintendo franchise.

If that happens, Sega will bring the game to the PS360.

Nintendo is co-developing and publishing this game. It is their property.

This will forever reamain your fantasy.

Oh yeah, you are right, Just like NG2 on the 360, and then the sigma version came to the PS3.......oh wait.

Sega owns the IP, they can do whatever they want with it.

With the first one that is true. It is not with this one. Nintendo holds just as much stake in this one as SEGA since they are helping fund the production. Nintendo's name will be on Bayonetta 2 right next to SEGA's.

It is still a SEGA IP, and that wont change because nintendo put some money in the development for the sequel, just like in the case of ninja gaiden 2. If there is motivation  to bring it multiplatform (not so great sales) Sega will think a way to do it. Adding more content, changing some content, and having a different title.

From where you get the idea that just because a game got some money from certain company it suddenly becomes it´s property?  M$ have completely funded in the past games like Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vesperia, and PS3 versions were eventually released.  As long as Nintendo or M$/Sony dont own the IP the developer can do whatever they want with it.

Resident Evil 4 jumped to GC and did very well for such a small console install base.

Not really when it only sold about 1.4million and the series entries before it were selling 4million+. Hense the reason they hurrily made a PS2 port of it which went on to sell another 3.5million. That is what happens when you keep shaking up a fanbase with switching to different consoles.

What did I just say?   "did very well for such a small console install base."

Did you read "did very well" and ignored the rest?

And it sold 1.6 million on GC and 2.2 million on PS2.  Unless you want to call Capcom wrong on their own figures.

They are feeling the burn across the internet. The butts are hurting *grabs helmet and sets up sandbags*. I smell the blood lust about.

Woah..., some people are getting banned in GAF over this as well. They really don't like the fact that it is exclusive to the Wii U.

Why can't be just be happy that we are getting Bayonetta 2

lol yeah I've been seeing the comments on GAF since this was announced and it's just been hilarious to watch xD

I tried Bayonetta only because a lot of people said it was a great game and had the best combat... It is awful in every way, the combat was just awful, I don't understand how anyone could like that crap. I couldn't care less for Bayonetta 2 and any fans of the genre who own a PS3/Xbox 360 shouldn't care either with upcoming games like God of War: Ascension which is the successor to the best selling, most critically acclaimed and most beloved game in the genre of all time and is likely to take over God of War III as the new king of the genre. Then there's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 which is also releasing next year and is a sequel to an absolutely fantastic game, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is very likely to be even better than the first which would make it nothing less than a masterpiece.

God of War's gameplay hasn't developed since the PS2 and Ascension doesn't look likely to change that. It's just too shallow compared to Bayonetta.

.

Great for the Wii U. Odd that its exclusive though. If I were a fan of the franchise, then I would really be annoyed.

Selling over a million is great sales for a new IP, NOT for an existing IP with a history of selling 4times more than that. That is really BAD! Shareholders of any company would say the same thing.

http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Resident+Evil+&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

Resident evil 2 = 5.82Million

Resident Evil 3 = 3.7million

Resident Evil 4...

Gamecube = 1.69Million

Playstation 2 = 3.62Million

Sorry if my rushed numbers confused you, the data still stands the same. If it had of stayed a Gamecube exclusive it would have been a flop for the series.
