I will tell you exactly what this means for Bayonetta 2's sales.......FLOP!!!
What a horrible move. It is fairly obvious most of Bayonetta's fans own the other 2HD consoles and are probably not going to be willing to buy another console JUST for that game.

This game wouldn't be getting made period without Nintendo funding it.

Sega canned the project, it's only because of Nintendo that this is getting made. Deal with it.

That was very stupid on Sega's part then. Doesn't change the fact that this can have a drastic effect on this game's outcome. Seeing that Nintendo is publishing, I guess it won't crush them financially when the title doesn't sell well but what it will do is scatter a fanbase of an already struggling series.

I smell flop sales wise.

Probably sega deluxe something port in a year on next gen ps/xbox.

Yeah, I also think the game will flop.   People who already have batonetta 1 wont buy a new console just for the sequel, so sales will depend just in nintendo fans who only (in most cases) like mario, pokemon, and any other nintendo franchise.

If that happens, Sega will bring the game to the PS360.

Nintendo is co-developing and publishing this game. It is their property.

This will forever reamain your fantasy.

Oh yeah, you are right, Just like NG2 on the 360....oh wait. The PS3 got a version with more content.

Sega owns the IP, they can do whatever they want with it.

It's very rare for a game published by one of the big 3 to go multiplat. Really rare. Can't even think of one... anyone?

Guess what.

Many people may buy it without playing the first game at all. New owners or PS360 owners. Just like people play Mass Effect series on Ps3 despite the first one being absent .

The Mass Effect thing isn't what is happening right now. It is more of a Star Ocean thing.

Mass Effect 2 didn't go PS3 exclusive, it just added another console it was on. Sequels don't just magically grow an entirely new fanbase, it is always comprised of mostly existing fans with a few new additions. Star Ocean on the other hand was a PS exclusive, then for whatever reason was exclusive to 360 which really hurt it's selling power. Something the Tales of Series has been dealing with for a while as they never settle on one console so it confuses the shit out of fans who are trying to decide which console to get, hense shakey sales.

Resident Evil 4 jumped to GC and did very well for such a small console install base.

I think you may be right. Can't think of any. There have been plenty of cases where a single entry was published by the big 3 but the subsequent sequels were Multiplat.

Not really when it only sold about 1.4million and the series entries before it were selling 4million+. Hense the reason they hurrily made a PS2 port of it which went on to sell another 3.5million. That is what happens when you keep shaking up a fanbase with switching to different consoles.
