Konami just shot themselves in the foot.

I think the game is going to bomb so it's surprising they're not trying to get every sale they possibly can.

if they are canceling it there must be a cost associated with releasing it on xbox in japan.  if expected revenues are less then costs...

Xbox is so dead in japan it doesnt suprise me at all. I mean the xbox struggles to sell a thousand consoles a week lol

For it to be dead, it would have to have lived first.

No one cares lol

This. Xbox never sold well in Japan. Will see Next Gen but its hard to compete there.

lmoa wow

This is no big surprise and no big deal on an individual basis, but I do wonder if this means Microsoft has stopped throwing money at Japanese developers regarding domestic releases. They've devoted a LOT of money and resources over there trying to crack that market, but it seems to have been for naught. I would really love to know how much money it took to convince some of those developers and publishers to make their title a 360 exclusive, knowing without doubt that the profits on a PS3 would be exponentially higher.

Are they just done for this generation? Will they renew their efforts with the 720? Probably, though I don't know how much success they will find. The bad build quality of the early 360 models supposedly hurt the brand quite a bit, so perhaps they can fix that aspect.

Not surprised but Konami make some very odd decisions sometimes.

Yeah, like the time they decided to make a spin-off with Raiden as the main and called it "Revengence" what the hell is that about?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Great Post!

I believe this will try even harder with nextBox, with much better hwardware since the beggining and tons os Japanese exclusives like MH,FF and even maybe a new LO or BD.

No doubt they will try harder with Kinect 2 and all that things, Xbox 1 sold 500K in Japan, 360 1.6M, thats 1.1m increase, going by that number 720 should sell ~3.5m in Japan. But even they can convince Jap that their Console is awesome and it is than history can change, not that they will beat Ninty or Sony but they can go deeper in that market and make some damage.

I know this is off-topic, but can you imagine if Microsoft bought of Monster Hunter... let's say 5?
