Seems to me like Bethesda are blaming sony for their own incompetence. This pretty much solidifies my stance of not geting an Elder Scrolls game again - Oblivion was meh and Bethesda's issues with Skyrim on the ps3 mean Im not even going to bother trying.

Sony released the console that is a pain in the butt to develop for.

Oh yeah?! Well, you released the console that had a 1000% failure rate!

Every console has a 100% failure rate.

Considering how long the console has been around AND considering that Bethesda have already released games before on the ps3 (such as Oblivion), that is a fairly lousy excuse.  Yes the ps3 is a pain to work with but they should have gotten used to it by now - every other developer has. AND none of these other developers have sent out such screwed up games as Bethesda - Oblivion was a ported glitchfest,  so was fallout 3 and lets not even talk about Skyrim.

Has it occurred to you that the world doesn't revolve around your console of choice. Despite what you may think most developers don't have a deep understanding of the PS3s architecture. Basically they have settled on a sort of compromise where they don't have to put up with its ass backwards nature. Instead they license middle ware to handle the grunt work. It is easy to license a game engine, and build on top of that.

Bethesda however doesn't do that. Maybe they want to get the most out of the machines, or maybe they want to do things that no existing engines support. Whatever the reason they are doing all of the work themselves. If you think it is easy you would be dead wrong. Even Epic which is probably the premiere engine developer had major delays in getting the Unreal engine to work on the PS3. If it was so hard for them. Then just imagine how hard it has to be for Bethesda.

You should be thankful that they bother, and you should be impressed by what they have accomplished. Having a hard time with real tricky hardware isn't a crime, and nobody should be shaming them for that. I for one support Bethesda, and their proprietary engine. I suspect that is part of why their games play and feel so vivid for the lack of a better word.

If losing that is what it takes for the PS3 to handle their games. Then I for one don't want them putting games out on the PS3. There is no reason that the PS3 should be hurting my gaming period end of story. I am not the one that made the wrong choice. That is your problem so deal with it.

Oblivion was ported by someone else so they really aren't all that acclimated to PS3 development. Furthermore their games are so much larger and intricate than most others so I won't compare them to other devs either. But lol @ "every other dev has". Yeah, that must be why a huge majority of multiplatform games still look/run better on Xbox.

Its clear most people in here dont understand the problem. The problem is actualy with the PS3s hardware. Its RAM isnt capable of really handling Skyrim by itself let alone a huge expansion that adds even more stuff for it to process

tbh this gama is basically a 360 exclusive lol

FIXed it for you

And let's be honest, you might be right.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?
